The Union Springs Police Department was seeking the whereabouts of the missing person Anthony Tyrone McNair, who was reported missing on July 17, 2024, and have since located McNair.

 

Investigators say McNair was originally last seen on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at about 1:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Seale Avenue in Union Springs, Alabama.

 

Investigators notified CrimeStoppers on July 18, 2024, and advised they located McNair and he was no longer considered a missing person.

Dallas County – Investigators Charge Six in July 7 Homicide

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office recently requested public assistance in a July fatal shooting and were seeking the public’s help in obtaining information in the investigation. Investigators notified CrimeStoppers and advised that six people have been charged in the homicide.

 

On July 7, 2024, around 3:00 a.m. deputies responded to Vaughn Regional Medical Center located in Selma, Alabama, in reference to two victims being treated for gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, police located an adult male victim who sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the ER. The victim was identified as Jeremy “Chop” Deuntae Bryant, 19. An additional victim, identified as an adult male, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was receiving treatment by medical staff.

Investigators say the fatal shooting occurred at 2:40 a.m. on the same date at Shop Boyz Lounge located at 3901 County Road 33, Orrville, Alabama.

Investigators say Tremark Devontay Atkins, Roger Rayshun Murray, Aaron Deon Tower, Mikle Deoun Butler, Marquis Eugene Owens, and Ja’Travius Derryell Simmons were identified as suspects and were charged with murder. Additionally, all except, Derryell Simmons, were charged with discharging a gun into an occupied building and second-degree assault.

Montgomery Police Make Arrest in Fatal Troy Highway Triple Shooting

The Montgomery Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they identified and arrested a suspect involved in the fatal June triple shooting that left three victims dead. Police originally requested the public’s help and were asking anyone with details or information to please come forward.

 

Investigators say on Tuesday evening, June 4, 2024, just before 9:00 p.m., police and medics responded to the 4100 block of Troy Highway, Montgomery, AL, in reference to a shooting. Police located three victims at a local business which has been identified by local media as Tienda Los Hermanos, a local grocery store. Three victims were located on the scene and sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds. Two victims were pronounced deceased on the scene and one other was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

 

The victims were identified by investigators as George Elijah Jr., 50, and Daniel Lopez, 20, who died at the scene. Romero Lopez, 43, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

 

Investigators say Jarques Qushawn Butler, 18, was identified as a suspect in this ongoing investigation and has been charged with two counts of capital murder. Butler was taken into custody by law enforcement on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Montgomery, Alabama, and was apprehended after fleeing law enforcement on foot. Butler was transported to Montgomery County Detention Facility where he is currently being held without bail.

 

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are available for release at this time.

Fike reportedly left an assigned ADOC worksite location on Saturday, July 6, 2024, around 5:25 p.m. in Decatur, Alabama.

Fike was serving a 20-year prison sentence for a manslaughter charge that occurred in Colbert County. Fike was originally sentenced in December of 2016.

Investigators say Fike was located by law enforcement on Sunday, July 7, 2024, in Moulton, Alabama. Fike was taken into custody and placed into the custody of the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Millbrook – Police Identify Suspect in Felony Retail Investigation Thanks to Anonymous Tip

The Millbrook Police Department requested public assistance on July 2, 2024, and was investigating a felony retail theft and seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect. Police advised the suspect has since been identified.

 

Millbrook Police Investigators released a photo of a suspect wanted for a felony retail theft that occurred on June 11, 2024, at Walmart located at 145 Kelley Boulevard, Millbrook AL.

 

Investigators say the pictured suspect identified as a black male, pushed out a shopping cart full of merchandise valued at more than $500 without remitting payment. The suspect was wanted for Retail Theft 2nd.

Investigators say thanks to an anonymous tip provided through Central Alabama CrimeStoppers the suspect was identified.

The investigation is ongoing and there are no other details available for release at this time.

The Opelika Police Department was investigating a May 26, 2024, felony retail theft and seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved. Investigators say they have since identified the suspects and they are no longer being sought by law enforcement.

 

Opelika Police Investigators originally released a photo of two unknown suspects wanted for a felony theft investigation. The offense occurred, on May 26, 2024, at about 11:00 a.m. at Ulta located at 2690 Enterprise Drive, Opelika, Alabama. Investigators say the suspects entered the business and began placing merchandise in a bag. The suspects failed to pay and left the store with the merchandise.

Investigators say both suspects have been identified and are no longer being sought by law enforcement.

There are no additional details available for release at this time.

Dorman was originally wanted for theft of property 3rd degree and unlaw breaking and entering into a vehicle. Court documents indicated that Dorman unlawfully entered a 1999 Dodge Ram Truck without the consent of the owner and took property not belonging to him. On another occasion, Dorman stole a weed eater, pressure washer, chainsaw, and assorted tools belonging to another to exceed $500.00 but not $1,499.00 in value.

Investigators notified CrimeStoppers on June 28, 2024, and advised Dorman was taken into custody by law enforcement and is no longer wanted.

Johnson was originally wanted by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office for a failure to appear felony drug trafficking charge and a misdemeanor warrant for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers received an anonymous tip that provided information that helped with the apprehension of Johnson. Investigators say this information was crucial in this investigation and without it, Johnson would not have been located as quickly as she was.

 

On June 24, 2024, Johnson was taken into custody by law enforcement and transported to the Calhoun County Detention Facility.

Investigators say on Sunday, June 9, 2024, around 12:30 a.m., police and medics responded to Benson’s Community Center, located at 2774 N. Central Avenue, Alexander City, AL, in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, police located an adult male, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Two additional victims were located at a local hospital and were being treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

 

Jay’z’ion Strong, 19, of Goodwater, was identified as the victim who sustained a fatal gunshot wound.

Investigators say Latavian Brownfield, 18, of Sylacauga, who was previously identified as a victim, was determined to be the shooter responsible for the fatal shooting and the assault of another. Warrants for murder and assault were signed on Brownfield, and he was taken into custody on June 25, 2024.

On June 11, 2024, the Prattville Police Department requested public assistance in a Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument case and were seeking information in the investigation.

 

Prattville Police Investigators released a photo of an unknown subject who purchased groceries using a counterfeit $100.00 bill. Investigators wished to speak with the pictured person to find out additional details regarding how the counterfeit bill was obtained.

Investigators would like to thank the media and the public for creating awareness in this case, which was essential in locating the person of interest in the investigation. The pictured person immediately contacted investigators after seeing herself on the original lookout. Police have since spoken to her and she is no longer being requested to speak to law enforcement.

The Troy Police Department requested public assistance in a business robbery and sought the public’s help in identifying the suspects as of May 29, 2024.

 

On Friday, May 24, 2024, at about 1:21 a.m. police responded to a business located in the 100 block of U.S. Highway 231, Troy, Alabama, in reference to a business robbery investigation.

 

Troy Police Investigator’s released a photo of four unknown subjects wanted for the robbery. The suspects, armed with a firearm, entered the business and demanded currency. The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored passenger car traveling south on Three Notch Street.

 

Investigators say the suspects have been identified and all four are in custody. Investigators say they have arrested and charged Jaquavious Mason, 23, of Union Springs, Demiracle Washington, 20, of Lanett, Raekwon Daniels, 26, of Eufaula, and Kevonte Smith, 22, of Union Springs. Mason, Washington, and Daniels were taken into custody on June 4, 2024, by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Union Springs, Alabama.

Investigators say the suspect was driving a black 2023 Ford Mustang (Alabama Tag 3A0A9CU). The suspect subsequently attempted to defraud a victim using altered information that contained the victim's information. The suspect was last seen fleeing the area in an unknown direction of travel.

Montgomery Police Make Arrest in Shooting that Left One Victim Paralyzed – Case Solved Thanks to Anonymous Tipster

 

5500 Block of Atlanta Highway

The Montgomery Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised an arrest was made in the April 12, 2024, shooting that left one victim paralyzed. Police originally requested the public’s help in identifying the suspect and were asking anyone with details or information to come forward.

 

Investigators say on Friday, April 12, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., patrol units responded to W. Eastdale Circle and Atlanta Highway in reference to a subject shot. Police say the victim was located inside her vehicle in the 5500 block of Atlanta Highway. The victim sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

 

Family members of the victim identified the victim as Amy Dicks. Her family says Ms. Dicks has been receiving medical treatment and is currently paralyzed from the chest down. The family states that her injuries will impact Ms. Dicks and her family mentally, physically, and financially for the remainder of their lives.

Investigators credit information provided by an anonymous tipster with providing crucial information that was essential to solving the case. Police charged Micheal Lamar Johnson, 20, with the shooting of Amy Dicks.

Johnson was placed into custody and charged with first-degree assault, discharging a firearm into an unoccupied building/vehicle, and discharging a gun into an occupied building/vehicle. Johnson was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he was later released after posting a $90,000.00 bail.

 

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers will be providing a cash reward of $5,000.00, and Montgomery County District 3 Commissioner, Rhonda Walker is providing an additional $5.000.00 bringing the immediate reward to $10,000.00 to be paid to the anonymous tipster. An additional $5,000.00 from Alabama House of Representatives District 75, Reed Ingram, is being placed on hold and will be paid upon conviction, bringing the total reward to $15,000.00.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers received an anonymous tip that provided information that helped with the apprehension of Morgan. Investigators say this information was crucial in this investigation and without it, Morgan would not have been located as quickly as he was.

Investigators say Thomas was wanted for her involvement in a double shooting that happened on May 3, 2024, in Selma, Alabama. Police say the victims were identified as a male and a female. The male, who was not identified, died of his injuries.

Investigators say Thomas has since been located by law enforcement and is in custody. Thomas is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

On March 19, 2024, the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force requested public assistance and were actively searching for the location of fugitive, Harold Green, 40.

 

Green was originally wanted for Rape 2nd Degree and Sodomy 2nd Degree by Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Investigators credit an anonymous tip with providing information that ultimately led to Green’s apprehension. Thanks to the anonymous information, Green was located by law enforcement in Kemper County, Mississippi. Green was taken into custody on May 13, 2023, and is currently in the process of being extradited to Sumter County, Alabama.

Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised Simington had been located and was in custody. Simington is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Simington was taken into custody on May 3, 2024, and charged with robbery 2nd degree and attempted robbery 2nd degree. Simington was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

Investigators credit an anonymous tipster with providing information that led to the apprehension of Simington. Investigators say this information from an anonymous CrimeStoppers tip was vital in the apprehension of Simington.

The Opelika Police Department requested assistance on April 26, 2024, and was investigating a felony theft and seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved.

 

Opelika Police Investigators released a photo of an unknown suspect wanted for a felony theft investigation. The offense occurred, on April 4, 2024, at about 5:49 p.m. at Ulta located at 2690 Enterprise Drive, Opelika, Alabama. Investigators say the suspect entered the business and approached the stylist station, while the employee was away from their station, the suspect removed the wallet from the victim’s purse and then exited the store.

Investigators say thanks to an anonymous tip from CrimeStoppers, the suspect was quickly identified. Investigators say the suspect was identified as Steaven Hunter, 31. Warrants for theft of property have been signed on Hunter, and at the time of the notification from law enforcement, the warrants were still active.

Investigators say Benton Jr. was wanted for his involvement in a burglary that occurred last year on March 27, 2023, in the 100 block of Highway 29 North, Union Springs, Alabama.

 

Investigators credit information provided to CrimeStoppers by another law enforcement agency that helped ultimately locate Benton Jr. Thanks to the collaboration of area law enforcement agencies working together, Benton Jr. was located promptly.

Benton Jr. was taken into custody by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in Macon County, AL. Benton Jr. will be transported back to Union Springs where he will be held at the Bullock County Detention Facility.

The Alabama Department of Corrections originally requested public assistance in locating, fugitive, Thomas Lashawn Davis, 49. Davis who was serving a sentence for the distribution of a controlled substance escaped from the North Alabama Correctional Facility on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at about 7:00 p.m.

Investigators advised Davis was located by law enforcement in Decatur, Georgia, on Friday, April 26, 2024. Davis was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Clayton County Jail in Georgia as he awaits extradition back to Alabama.

On April 22, 2024, the Montgomery Police Department requested public assistance in two robbery cases and was seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

 

On April 12, 2024, police responded to the 2500 block of Fairground Road, Montgomery, Alabama in reference to an armed business robbery. Investigators say the suspect committed an additional robbery on April 13, 2024, in the 2800 block of Lower Wetumpka Road.

 

Montgomery Police Investigator’s released a photo of an unknown subject, wanted for the two robberies.

 

Investigators credit an anonymous tip from Central Alabama CrimeStoppers with providing information that identified the suspect. Investigators say the information was crucial in the investigation.

SYLACAUGA – HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE - FUGITIVE JAMIR DE’JAWN RUSS IN CUSTODY

The Sylacauga Police Department originally requested public assistance with obtaining information in the city’s first homicide investigation of the year on February 27, 2024. Investigators have since located the suspect and he is currently in custody.

 

At about 4:00 p.m. on February 26, 2024, Sylacauga Police Department responded to 306 S. Main Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama, in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Tamekia Tana Fluker, 40, of Sylacauga. Ms. Fluker was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Upon further investigation, investigators determined Jamir De’Jawn Russ, 16, as the suspect in the case. On March 4, 2024, Investigators obtained a two-count capital murder warrant on Russ in connection with the tragic shooting death of Tamekia Fluker.

Central Alabama Crimestoppers offered a $1,000.00 cash reward for any information that helped locate Russ and led to his arrest.

 

Investigators say Russ was adjudicated as an adult by Talladega County Circuit Judge Williams E. Hollingsworth IV on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

 

Investigators say Russ has been located and was taken into custody after a two-hour standoff that ended peacefully with Russ surrendering to law enforcement.

Prattville – Theft of Property 3rd Degree Suspect Identified

 

The Prattville Police Department requested public assistance in an ongoing felony theft and sought the public’s help with identifying the suspect in November of 2023.

Prattville Police Investigators released a photo of an unknown suspect wanted for a felony theft investigation. Investigators say the offense occurred, on October 29, 2023, at Lowes located at 2307 Cobbs Ford Road, Prattville, AL.

Investigators say the pictured suspect, identified as a black male, entered the business, and stole a pair of Kobalt brand wire cutters, exiting the store. The suspect used the same wire cutters to cut a security cable to steal a tiller and pressure washer located on the exterior of the store. The stolen items were valued at $1,026.36.

 

The suspect was wanted for one count of theft of property 3rd degree, which is a Class C felony.

 

Investigators say the suspect has since been identified and is no longer being sought by law enforcement.

Prattville – Suspects Involved in Burglary Investigation Identified

The Prattville Police Department was originally seeking information regarding a business burglary investigation. Investigators notified CrimeStoppers and advised they had identified the suspects in this ongoing investigation.

Prattville Police Investigators released a photo of unknown subjects wanted for a business burglary and theft investigation. On February 15, 2024, at about 9:00 pm, two subjects were seen stealing a DeWalt Pressure Washer on video surveillance at Prattville Health and Rehab located at 601 Jasmine Trail, Prattville, Alabama.

Investigators say two suspects arrived at the business driving the pictured 2017 Chevy Equinox, with an Alabama Tag of 4A00U15. The suspects stole a DeWalt Press Washer valued at $1,600.00.

The suspects wanted for burglary 3rd degree and theft of property 2nd degree have since been identified.

 Investigators say thanks to an anonymous CrimeStoppers tip, the suspects were both identified.

Investigators originally requested public assistance from Central Alabama CrimeStoppers on March 13, 2024, and were seeking the current whereabouts of Williams. Williams was wanted for two domestic violence assault 2nd degree warrants for incidents that reportedly occurred in Prattville, Alabama.

Investigators say Williams caused serious injuries to the victim, who was pregnant during the time of the violent assault.

Investigators say thanks to an anonymous tipster’s information, Williams was located and taken into custody.

Williams is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Investigators say Sara was originally last seen on March 2, 2024, at around 2:00 a.m., in Etowah County, wearing checkered pajama pants.

Investigators notified CrimeStoppers on March 7, 2024, and say Sara has since been located and was found to be safe. Investigators are not releasing additional details at this time but say more details regarding this case are soon to follow.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has been searching for the location of fugitive Carlos McClure, 46. McClure was originally wanted for two felony charges. McClure has since been located and charged.

 

McClure was originally wanted on failure to appear on a theft of property 1st degree and receiving stolen property 1st degree charge. Court documents indicate that McClure intentionally received or retained assorted scrap metal with a value greater than $2,500.00 and failed to appear for his scheduled court date.

As requested by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, McClure was placed on Central Alabama CrimeStoppers wanted list on their official website, www.215stop.com, on March 5, 2024. On Thursday, March 7, 2024, an area law enforcement officer was approached by a concerned citizen who was aware of the CrimeStoppers lookout for McClure. Investigators reached out to CrimeStoppers staff for additional details, and staff were able to confirm the active warrants on McClure. Thanks to the brave citizen’s information and a great partnership between CrimeStoppers and law enforcement, McClure was located a short time later. McClure was taken into custody by law enforcement on two felony charges.

The Alabama Department of Corrections originally requested public assistance on October 24, 2023, in locating, fugitive, Ricky Lavon Lay, 39.

 

Lay was serving a 16-year prison sentence for burglary at the Mobile Community Based Facility and Community Work Center located at 2423 North Beltline Highway in Mobile, AL. Lay originally escaped from the Steiner Shipyard where he was assigned to work. Lay left the job site without approval on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at approximately 3:30 pm.

Investigators say Lay was located by law enforcement on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Lay was taken into custody and extradited back to Alabama and placed into the custody of the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Hambrick was originally wanted for multiple Federal charges including distribution of Fentanyl and firearm charges.

Investigators say Hambrick was located and taken into custody by the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force.

Hambrick is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Lanett – Police Identify Murder Suspect Thanks to an Anonymous Tip

The Lanett Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they have identified and charged a suspect in the November 13, 2023, murder of Delarick St. George.

 

On December 13, 2023, investigators requested public assistance and were seeking information about the November fatal shooting.

 

On Monday, November 13, 2023, at about 4:37 p.m., police responded to the 2300 block of 20th Avenue Southwest, Lanett, Alabama, regarding an unresponsive male lying on the ground. Upon arrival, units located an adult male who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased by medics on the scene. The victim was identified as Delarick St. George, 36, of Lanett.

Investigators say due to an anonymous tip received through CrimeStoppers the suspect was identified and charged. Jeterrio Booker was identified as the suspect and taken into custody by the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Task Force and the Lanett Police Department on January 25, 2024.

Montgomery - Two Arrested in Missing Person Investigation

 

The Montgomery Police Department was originally requesting public assistance while searching for missing juvenile, Michael Cole Jr., 16.

 

Cole Jr. was last seen leaving the area of Ridgecrest, in the evening hours on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in Montgomery, Alabama.

 

Investigators say on January 29, 2024, at about 10:50 p.m. in the 6500 block of Selma Highway, Cole Jr. was found. Cole Jr. was pronounced deceased on the scene. Investigators say Cole Jr. died of an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators say Nicholas Treyvon King-Sheppard, 18, and Nedvin Maynard Jones, Jr., 18, both of Montgomery, have been identified as suspects and charged with felony murder. Both subjects are being held without bail at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

Haynes was orignally wanted for attempted murder and multiple violent felony charges as a result of a January 10, 2024, shooting that occurred in the 400 block of Conecuh Avenue East in Union Springs, Alabama.

Investigators say Haynes was located by law enforcement on January 16, 2024. Haynes was taken into custody for attempted murder and three additional felony charges.

Tallassee Police Investigators released a photo of an unknown suspect wanted for a business robbery that occurred on January 2, 2024, at about 1:30 pm at Marathon Gas Station located at 511 Jordan Avenue, Tallassee, Alabama. Investigators say the pictured suspect, identified as a black male, entered the business, produced an unknown type of handgun, and demanded currency. Investigators say the suspect took an assortment of US currency and left the business in an unknown direction of travel.

Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they had identified the suspect as Zyquarius Collins, 19. Collins was arrested on January 5, 2024, and charged with robbery 1st degree, where he is being held on a $6,000.00 bond at the Elmore County Detention Facility.

The Montgomery Police Department continues to investigate multiple burglaries and seeks the public’s help in identifying the remaining suspects. Police say one suspect has been identified and warrants have been signed.

 

Between October 6, 2023, and October 9, 2023, police say several males were seen on video surveillance stealing multiple items from a business located in the 4000 block of Strathmore Drive, Montgomery, AL.

 

On December 29, 2023, investigators released photos of unknown subjects wanted for burglary. The suspects entered the business and were seen stealing several items on video surveillance footage. The suspects left the business in an unknown direction of travel.

Investigators say thanks to an anonymous tip from Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, one pictured suspect was identified. The suspect was identified as Shareef Merritt. Investigators say Merritt was charged with two counts of burglary 3rd degree. The warrants against Merritt are still active, and police are currently asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of Merritt to immediately notify CrimeStoppers.

Millbrook Police Identify Suspect in Christmas Eve Fraudulent use of a Debit Card Investigation

 

The Millbrook Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they have identified and arrested a suspect wanted for fraudulent use of a debit card investigation.

 

Investigators originally requested public assistance on January 1, 2024, and were seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

 

On Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, 2023, police responded to Hill Liquor and Wine located at 107 Kelley Boulevard, Millbrook, Alabama, in reference to a fraudulent use of a debit card investigation. Upon arrival, police determined the victim used their debit card to make a small purchase, the victim accidentally left the debit card in the card reader. The victim left the business when an unidentified female was behind the victim, observed that the card was left in the machine and took the victim’s card to make a transaction. Once the card was approved, the suspect made another large purchase using the same card. The suspect then traveled to another area business and used the card to make additional purchases.

Police say Stevette Lewis was identified as the suspect. Warrants were signed, and the suspect turned herself over to the police a short time later.

Millbrook Police Investigators say thanks to an anonymous tip, the suspect was identified. Investigators credit this tip with solving the case.

The Montgomery Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they had identified both suspects involved in a November felony retail theft investigation.

 

On December 29, 2023, investigators requested public assistance in identifying two felony retail theft suspects. Investigators released photographs of the two wanted suspects. The original theft occurred November 17, 2023, in the 7000 block of Eastchase Parkway.

The lookout for the wanted females received an overwhelming response on social media and garnered local attention thanks to support from our area media outlets. The community, the media, and law enforcement truly came together and thanks to those efforts, both suspects have been identified.

Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers on Thursday, January 4, 2024, and advised both suspects involved in the investigation have been identified. Charity Pruitt and April Collons were identified as suspects. Investigators say Pruitt turned herself in after being made aware of the investigation. Collons was identified thanks to an anonymous tip and warrants were signed. Collons was made aware of the warrants and turned herself over to law enforcement a short time later. Both suspects were charged with theft of property 3rd degree.

The Prattville Police Department requested assistance on December 8, 2023, seeking information regarding a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers on Monday, December 11, 2023, and advised they located the vehicle and identified the driver.

 

On December 8, 2023, around 1:00 am, Prattville Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of East Main Street about a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Investigators say the victim was crossing East Main Street, in the crosswalk, when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Paramedics to a local area hospital.

Investigators would like to thank the media and especially the public for creating awareness in this ongoing investigation. The case received a tremendous amount of public awareness. Thanks to such a great response, the driver of the suspect vehicle was made aware of the CrimeStoppers lookout and turned himself over to law enforcement. The vehicle involved was also located by law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing and charges are currently pending.

The United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force requested public assistance and were seeking Palmer’s whereabouts on December 1, 2023. Palmer was originally wanted for assault 2nd by the Montgomery Police Department and a probation violation.

 

Investigators say Palmer was taken into custody by law enforcement on December 7, 2023, and was located in Montgomery, Alabama.

 

Investigators said Palmer was known to be a violent person, and advised caution to be used if Palmer was seen. Investigators were acting swiftly to locate Palmer and credit an anonymous tip provided by CrimeStoppers with information that was instrumental in locating Palmer.

Jakellus Arnez Lane turned himself into the Opp Police Department on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at approximately 7:30 pm. The Opp Police Department would like to credit assistance from the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers.  No other information was released.

On November 16, 2023, the Opp Police Department was dispatched to Morning Star Drive to a male subject that had been shot several times.  During the investigation the Opp Police Department developed Jakellus Arnez Lane as a suspect, along with two other suspects.

On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, the Alabama Department of Corrections notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised that escapee, Tom Seabers Pope, has been located and placed into custody.

On Monday, November 20, 2023, the Alabama Department of Corrections requested assistance locating escapee, Tom Seabers Pope. Investigators say Pope was last accounted for at about 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Alex City Detention Facility. Later in the evening, Pope was unaccounted for and found to be an escapee at about 9:18 p.m.

Investigators say, Pope was located Monday November 20, 2023, by the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Pope was safely placed into custody.

Pope was originally serving an 18-month sentence for unlawful breaking and entering into a vehicle.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers would like to acknowledge the outstanding work by area law enforcement agencies in locating Pope in a timely manner. Due to their strong work ethic and dedication, an escapee was taken off our streets and placed back behind bars.

The Sylacauga Police Department orignally requested public assistance locating McGuire Jr. on November 14, 2023. McGuire Jr. was wanted for SORNA violation (Sex Offender Registration Notification Act).

Investigators say McGuire Jr. was located by law enforcement on November 16, 2023, in Sylacauga, Alabama, and was taken into custody for a SORNA violation, and transported to the Talladega County Jail.

McGuire Jr. is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

On October 31, 2023, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office advised they responded to the 1700 block of Six Foot Road in reference to possible criminal activity, a search warrant was obtained by law enforcement, which later led to them locating heroin, methamphetamine, and a stolen motorcycle.

 

After further investigation, Dennis Dewberry and Jacob Watts were charged with felony charges. Investigators say a female was also taken into custody for a misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Investigators credit an anonymous tip from Central Alabama CrimeStoppers for helping provide information that helped investigators in this ongoing investigation. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office requested public assistance from Central Alabama CrimeStoppers on September 25, 2023, and were seeking the whereabouts of fugitive, Darryl Timmons, 34.

 

Timmons was originally wanted for theft of property 1st degree, vehicle burglary, and several other related charges. Court documents indicated that Timmons stole roofing shingles that exceeded $2,500.00 in value and lumber that exceeded $2,500.00 in value from two separate locations. Court documents also indicated that Timmons broke into a vehicle in the same area and caused property damage to multiple businesses.

Investigators notified CrimeStoppers and advised Timmons was located and taken into custody. Timmons is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Investigators credit an anonymous tipster with providing information that helped investigators locate Timmons. Investigators say CrimeStoppers assistance was crucial in locating Timmons.

Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, and advised Hall was in police custody and was no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Jordan was last seen around 7:00 p.m. on October 5, 2023, in Prattville, Alabama.

Investigators say Jordan was located in Indiana on Saturday, October 16, 2023, by law enforcement. Jordan was found to be safe and unharmed.

The United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force requested public assistance locating fugitive, Kayne Chakeith McTier, 19.

McTier had an active warrant for Murder (Reckless) by the Montgomery Police Department. McTier was identified as an additional suspect in the July 22nd shooting death of a 16-year-old juvenile male, of Montgomery.

Investigators notified CrimeStoppers on Monday, October 16, 2023, and advised McTier was located and taken into custody on October 11, 2023, by the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force Huntsville and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond.

 

OPELIKA – MISSING PERSON CASE NOW A HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – TWO IN CUSTODY

 

On October 10, 2023, the Opelika Police Department requested public assistance in searching for a missing man, Reggie Cornelius Stokes, 28. Investigators notified CrimeStoppers and advised the case is now a homicide investigation and two suspects were in police custody.

 

Investigators say Stokes was last seen by his family on September 22, 2023, and was not active on social media since September 23, 2023.  

During the initial investigation into the disappearance of Reggie Cornelius Stokes, detectives identified Matthew James Dillon, 40, and Francis Harland Hamblin, 40, as possible suspects. Both suspects recently relocated to the Opelika area. Dillon is originally from Ohio and Hamblin is from New York.

On October 11, 2023, Opelika Police Detectives, along with members of Alpha Team K9 Search & Rescue, located human remains in a wooded area near the 100 Block of Bay Court. After the remains were located, and in consultation with the Lee County District Attorney’s Office, the suspects were arrested. Dillon and Hamblin have both been charged with murder.

The Prattville Police Department notified CrimeStoppers and advised they have identified the suspect involved in a felony theft investigation.

 

On October 5, 2023, Prattville Police Investigators released a photo of an unknown suspect who entered a rental storage facility located in the 700 block of Shelia Boulevard on August 18, 2023, cut the lock on a storage unit, and took property.

 

Investigators say the suspect stole two kayaks, a cart, and various hunting equipment. The items were valued at $4,070.00.

Investigators say the press release and lookout provided by CrimeStoppers received a tremendous public response that quickly led to the identification and arrest of the suspect. Investigators say the suspect was identified as Chad Nesbit. Nesbit was charged with theft of property 1st degree and taken into custody.

On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, the Alabama Department of Corrections requested assistance in locating Marks wanted for escape. Prior to his escape, Marks was serving a prison sentence for Theft of Property 1st at the Loxley Detention Facility.

Investigators say Marks was located by Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office at around 11:10 a.m. in Baldwin County. Marks is currently in police custody and is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Hand was wanted for failure to appear in reference to a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance felony warrant. Court documents indicate that Hand was in possession of cocaine, charged, and failed to appear for his court appearance that was scheduled in November of 2018.

Seals was wanted for theft of property 1st degree and public assistance fraud. Court documents indicate that Seals knowingly fraudulently transferred funds via a food ID card and stole over $2,500.00 from the Department of Human Resources.

Investigators say Seals was located and placed into custody on September 28, 2023, within 24 hours after being featured on CrimeStoppers. Seals is no longer wanted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

On 09/23/2023, at approximately 10:22 p.m., Elmore County Deputy G. Mann received a call from an individual who stated he'd received notification from security cameras on his property showing someone trespassing. Deputy Mann arrived on the scene to find Inmate Smallwood in the kitchen of the complainant’s residence located in the 2600 block of Rigsby Road in Tallassee, AL. Smallwood was detained at that time and taken to Elmore County Jail. Daniel Lee Smallwood is being charged with Escape and two additional charges of Burglary and Theft.  No other details were released.

Daniel Lee Smallwood was serving a 4-year 5-month prison sentence for Burglary at the Elba Community Based Facility and Community Work Center located at 1620 Boswell Street, Elba, AL 36323. On September 8, 2023, at approximately 1:00 AM it was determined that inmate Daniel Lee Smallwood was unaccounted for at his place of employment.

Court documents indicated that Maydwell stole items from a local business in Montgomery. The value of the items exceeded $500.00.

The Tallassee Police Department originally contacted Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and requested public assistance on Friday, September 22, 2023, with locating fugitive, Robdarius Ronkevious Smith, 31, of Tuskegee.

Smith was wanted for the September 20, 2023, fatal shooting that occurred in the 100 block of Washington Street in Tallassee, AL.

Investigators thank the media and the public for rapidly spreading public awareness regarding Smith’s whereabouts. Thanks to this tremendous amount of public awareness, Smith was made well aware that he was wanted by law enforcement. Smith turned himself over to law enforcement in Butler County shortly after CrimeStoppers original press release.

The Covington County Sheriff’s Office requested public assistance on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, and was searching for the whereabouts of fugitive, Brandon Brewster, 26. Brewster was wanted for multiple outstanding felony charges and outstanding warrants from three law enforcement agencies.

Investigators say Brewster was arrested on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2023, in New Brockton, AL.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers would like to recognize the outstanding work of law enforcement with the apprehension of Brewster. Covington County Sheriff’s Office, Coffee County Sheriff's Office Geneva County Sheriff's Office along with the Alabama Department of Corrections assisted with the arrest. Court documents indicated that Barnett was unlawfully in possession of a firearm after being convicted of felony and criminal charges that would prevent him from possessing a firearm.

CrimeStoppers was notified on September 19, 2023, that Barnett had been arrested and was no longer wanted. Barnett was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility

Bates was serving a 20-year prison sentence for robbery at the Loxley Detention Facility.

CrimeStoppers received the request to provide a public lookout for Carr on September 1, 2023, and the lookout was posted on behalf of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, September 12, 2023.

Investigators say Carr turned herself over to law enforcement shortly after the lookout was aired. Carr is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Montgomery Police Investigators requested public assistance from CrimeStoppers to help locate Williams. A lookout and photo were released to the media and the public on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Williams was originally wanted for nine domestic violence-related warrants.

 

Montgomery investigators were actively seeking the whereabouts of Williams and would like to thank the public and media for helping share the original lookout. Due to the widespread awareness of this fugitive with nine domestic violence-related warrants, the suspect was quickly taken into custody. Williams was aware of the public awareness regarding his whereabouts and quickly turned himself over to law enforcement. Williams was placed into custody and charged with nine outstanding warrants.

Montgomery Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit acted swiftly to ensure Williams was located in a timely and prompt manner. These investigators went above and beyond to ensure a wanted fugitive was taken off the streets.

The Alabama Department of Corrections has officially notified CrimeStoppers of the capture of escaped inmate Pershon O’Neal Pettway. 

 

On September 6, 2023 at around 3:00 pm, the Alabama Department of Corrections Law Enforcement Services Division was made aware of Pershon Pettway driving a stolen vehicle in Troy, AL. Members of the Troy Police Department initiated a traffic stop but Pettway drove off and a short vehicle pursuit was started. Pettway abandoned the stolen vehicle during the pursuit and ran in the woods. He was eventually captured at the intersection of Ray Avenue and Franklin Drive in Troy, AL. Pershon Pettway was taken into custody and is being transported to the Talladega County Jail.  Additional criminal charges may be pending. No other details were released at this time.

Pershon O’Neal Pettway was serving a 2-year prison sentence for Receiving Stolen Property at the Childersburg Community Based Facility and Community Work Center located at 13501 Plant Road, Alpine, AL 35014. On September 5, 2023, at approximately 3:32 AM an institutional bed roster was conducted of the facility. At approximately 4:20 AM the count did not clear. It was determined that inmate Pershon Pettway was not present and was unaccounted for.

The Montgomery Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they made an arrest in the August 25, 2023, murder of a 15-year-old.  Police continue to seek the public’s help with identifying the remaining suspect.

 

On Friday, August 25, 2023, at about 10:10 p.m., police and fire medics responded to a shooting that occurred in the 4800 block of Park Towne Way, Montgomery, Alabama. Upon arrival, units located a 15-year-old juvenile male who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Due to the juvenile’s age, his identity has not been released at this time.

On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, investigators requested assistance from CrimeStoppers and released a photo of two unknown suspects being sought for their involvement in the shooting. Investigators say one of the suspects was quickly identified shortly after CrimeStoppers press release regarding the investigation was released to the media and the public. Police say one suspect in the photo is still at large and has not been identified at this time and police are asking for the public’s assistance with the identification of the remaining suspect.

Investigators say Saquavion Denard, 19, of Montgomery, was identified as one of the suspects and was taken into police custody on September 5, 2023, and charged with Capital Murder and two counts of Robbery 1st Degree. Denard was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he is being held on no bond.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they have located fugitive, Brandon Earl Kelley, 36.

 

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office requested public assistance locating fugitive, Brandon Earl Kelley, 36. Kelley was wanted for a murder that occurred in Montgomery County, Alabama. Kelley had an active warrant for murder and was actively being sought by law enforcement.

Law enforcement located Kelley on September 3, 2023, in Montgomery, Alabama, and placed him into custody. Kelley was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility and charged with murder and multiple other criminal charges. Kelley is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Investigators say due to a massive amount of public awareness, an anonymous caller contacted law enforcement and provided the exact whereabouts of Kelley. CrimeStoppers applauds this brave citizen for providing information that ultimately led to Kelley’s apprehension.

The United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they located fugitive, Jermaine Cortex Walker, 39.

 

The United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force originally requested assistance on August 1, 2023, locating fugitive, Jermaine Cortex Walker, wanted for attempted murder.

The United States Marshals notified CrimeStoppers and advised Walker was no longer wanted by law enforcement and was taken into custody on August 2, 2023. Walker was charged with attempted murder and placed in the Montgomery County Jail on no bond.

Montgomery Police Locate and Charge Person of Interest Involving August 25 Homicide Investigation

The Montgomery Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they have located and charged a female in the August 25, 2023, murder of Rickey Daniel.

 

On Friday, August 25, 2023, at about 7:55 p.m., police and fire medics responded to a fatal shooting that occurred in the 4200 block of Sussex Drive, Montgomery, Alabama. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene and was identified as Rickey Daniel, 66.

 

On Tuesday, August 30, 2023, investigators released a photo of an unknown black female originally being sought for questioning in the investigation and were seeking public assistance from CrimeStoppers, and a lookout and press release for the person of interest was provided to the media and the public.

Investigators say the lookout received a tremendous public response, and the person of interest turned herself over to law enforcement just a few hours after the original CrimeStoppers lookout was released to the public and the media. Montgomery Police took Jayln Lakevion Greene into custody and identified her as the offender, Greene was charged with Capital Murder and was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where she is being held on no bond.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers thanks the public and the media for helping share the original lookout in a timely manner, which ultimately led to the offender's apprehension. This marks the 13th homicide suspect to be identified after being featured on Central Alabama CrimeStoppers this year. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has located fugitive, Anthony Jamichael Delaney. Delaney was arrested on outstanding warrants.

 

On December 12, 2022, the Jacksonville Police Department originally requested assistance locating a person of interest, Anthony Jamichael Delaney. Delaney was originally wanted for questioning regarding multiple vehicle burglary investigations where multiple firearms were stolen. Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office also had active warrants for Delaney for a probation violation for receiving stolen property and resisting arrest.

 

On Monday, August 28, 2023, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers received an anonymous tip that provided Delaney’s current whereabouts. Calhoun County’s Warrant Team responded rapidly to Delaney’s location and took the suspect into custody within minutes of receiving the tip.

CrimeStoppers would like to thank the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, one of our newest partners, for acting swiftly and ensuring a wanted fugitive was located and taken off the street in a timely manner.

Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers on August 21, 2023, and advised Ball had been located and was in custody. Ball was arrested on August 20, 2023, and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility for CPFI 3rd degree, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Alabama Department of Corrections requested public assistance in locating, fugitive, Jordan Andrew Thomas, 30, who was wanted for escaping Staton Correctional Facility located in Elmore County on Monday, August 7, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Staton Correctional Facility located in Elmore County advised inmate, Jordan Andrew Thomas had escaped from the facility. Thomas was currently serving a 75-year sentence for murder.

Investigators say Thomas was apprehended by law enforcement in the area of Troy Highway in Montgomery, AL.

Thomas is no longer wanted by law enforcement.

Bullock County – Suspect Involved in Home Invasion Identified

The Bullock County Sheriff’s Office notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they have identified and arrested the suspect involved in an August 7, 2023, home invasion.

 

Investigators requested public assistance on August 8, 2023, from CrimeStoppers with identifying the suspect responsible for a home invasion. Investigators say they responded to a home invasion of an elderly female that reportedly occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023, at a residence located in the 2300 block of County Road 14, located in Bullock County, Alabama. Investigators say the unknown suspect knocked on the victim’s door asking for water. During the conversation, the suspect forcefully entered the victim’s residence without her permission. It was during this time the suspect stole the victim’s purse containing checks, cash, and a debit card and fled the scene in a small vehicle.

Investigators surveyed the area and were able to obtain surveillance video footage of what appeared to be a male seen in the area shortly before the original offense occurred. The pictured subject matched the description of the suspect involved in the home invasion. The subject’s vehicle also matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Investigators say the lookout received a tremendous public response, which was also seen by many law enforcement partners. Investigators received information from another law enforcement agency that positively identified the suspect as Gray Wright.

 

Wright was located by law enforcement in Montgomery, Alabama. Wright was taken into custody on August 10, 2023, and transported to Bullock County. Wright was charged with robbery 2nd degree, assault 1st degree, and theft of property 3rd degree.

 

CrimeStoppers would like to acknowledge the swift action by investigators while going above and beyond to identify the suspect in this case. Investigators worked tirelessly while demonstrating unity with area law enforcement agencies to ensure Wright was apprehended and placed behind bars.

Union Springs - Suspect Wanted for August 12th Homicide Located

 

The Union Springs Police Department requested public assistance from Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and were seeking the whereabouts of fugitive, Joe Louis Hatcher.

 

Hatcher was wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at around 1:25 a.m. in the 100 block of Locke Avenue. Investigators say the victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Jeffery Monday, 36.

Investigators notified CrimeStoppers on August 15, 2023, and advised Hatcher turned himself over to law enforcement. Investigators credit the public awareness of the case and thank the media for helping get the word out.

CrimeStoppers gives kudos to investigators and law enforcement for quickly identifying the suspect in the investigation and acting swiftly to locate him. This is yet another outstanding example of law enforcement, the media, and the community coming together to reduce crime and put wanted fugitives behind bars.

On July 29, 2023, the Alabama Department of Corrections requested public assistance from Central Alabama CrimeStoppers with locating Kent Woods wanted for escape.

 

Kent Woods was serving a 10-year prison sentence for Robbery 1st degree at the Mobile Community Based Facility and Community Work Center located at 2423 N. Beltline Highway in Prichard, Alabama. On July 29, 2023, inmate Kent Woods was found to be missing during an 11:00 A.M., institutional count.

Investigators say Woods was located by law enforcement on August 10, 2023, in Mobile, AL.

Woods was located and taken into police custody. Woods is no longer wanted by law enforcement.
