HCSO Detectives Search for Shooting Suspect
January 04, 2019

STATUS: OPEN
On November 21, 2018 at 9:00 p.m., as the victim exited a Hartline bus near Progress Boulevard and 83rd Street South, an unknown black male also got off the bus and followed the victim to the shopping plaza at the southwest corner of Progress Boulevard and 78th Street.  At some point, the suspect fired numerous shots toward the victim, who was able to run away unharmed.  The suspect is described as a black male, late teens to early 20's, 5'08"-6', last seen wearing dark clothing, dark shoes with white soles and a black/white checkered scarf.  The suspect was armed with a semi-automatic firearm.

PCPD Detectives Work To Identify Female Who Took Package from Porch

On December 20, 2018 a white truck backed into the driveway of 1105 Johnson Street North, a female exited the passenger side, walked up to the front porch and took a package.  The truck is believed to be a Toyota Tundra, 2000's model.  The female was wearing a black jacket and blue hat.

Plant City Detectives Ask for Information from the Public to Help Identify Driver in Hit and Run Fatality

Update:  1/29/19 - detectives obtain arrest warrant for Doris Suleyma Rosales-Carbajal, 27, of Plant City.  The warrant is for Leaving the Scene of a Crash Without Rendering Aid Involving Death, Leaving the Scene of a Crash Without Rendering Aid Involving Serious Bodily Injury, Leaving the Scene Of a Crash Without Rendering Aid Involving Injury, No Valid Driver's License and Tampering With Evidence.
 
On December 2, 2018 at 10:55 p.m., the victim, Miquel Hernandez Jr., 21 yoa, and two friends were walking eastbound along MLK Boulevard in Plant City after leaving Fuego Bar & Grille.  The driver of a 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV, pearl white metallic in color, struck the men.  The driver continued to travel eastbound on MLK Boulevard and failed to stop and render aid.  Hernandez died at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained.  The other two men were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Detectives have recovered and impounded the Cadillac Escalade ESV used in the hit and run.  Information is requested regarding the person(s) responsible.

TPD Detectives Work to ID Suspect Who Took Game Camera

On November 12, 2018 at 3:06 a.m., an unknown Hispanic male appeared on a Spartan Game Camera that had been placed at Trane Supply located at 4720 Adamo Drive in Tampa due to recent thefts.  The suspect also appeared on the business surveillance camera holding the game camera and then can be seen placing it in his backpack.  Shortly after, the same male was caught on surveillance video entering the Speedway at Adamo Drive and 50th Street North.  The suspect purchased several items then left the area on a bicycle.

HCSO Detectives Work to Solve Early Morning Business Robbery

On November 15, 2018 at 12:34 a.m., an unknown white male entered the Mobile gas station (Victory Lane convenient store) located at 10039 Gibsonton Drive.  The male had his right hand inside a McDonald's bag and he pointed it at the clerk while demanding money from the register.  The clerk gave the suspect cash from the register at which time he fled on foot and ran westbound.  The suspect is described as a white male, 5'07", 120 lbs. and was last seen wearing a black shirt with a white logo on the front, black pants and a blue bandanna covering his face.

On November 25, 2018 at approximately 7:30 p.m., in the 700 block of Colson Road in Plant City, an off-duty deputy found a dog laying in a ditch.  The dog was injured and it was believed she had been hit by a car.  The dog was taken to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center for an examination by veterinarian staff.  X-rays revealed that she had been shot in the leg.  The dog has been named Cupcake due to her sweet demeanor.

HCSO Detectives Work to Identify Suspect Who May Be Responsible for Several Valrico Business Burglaries

On August 19, 2018 at approximately 11:29 pm, an unknown male entered the Lotus Nail Salon located at 3513 Bell Shoals Road in Valrico after he smashed the front glass door with a rock.  The suspect searched areas where cash is commonly stored, then took several gift cards.  The suspect is described as a light to medium skinned black male, 20-30 yao, 5'11-6'01", 205-215 lbs., dread lock style hair down his back with patches of curly hair and last seen wearing a burgundy button up shirt, white tank top and blue jeans.

Port Richey PD Detectives Work to Identify Suspect Passing Counterfeit $20 bills

On November 17, 2018 at approximately 9:35 pm an unknown white male entered the Speedway gas station located at 8011 US Highway 19 in Port Richey and approached the cashier about purchasing a gift card.  The male provided the cashier with thirteen $20 dollar bills totaling $260.  The suspect received a gift card in the amount of $260.  As the suspect left the store, the cashier realized the bills provided were counterfeit.

TPD Detectives Work to Identify Trio Involved with Several Business Burglaries

STATUS: OPEN
On 11/13/18 at 1:45 a.m., a trio of suspects went to the Mobile Mart located at 1705 Hillsborough Avenue West in Tampa.  One of the suspects used a device to break the glass front door.  A female followed the suspect inside the store while a second male suspect kept watch out front.  The suspects fled the store without taking any property.  The vehicle they were using was a 2017 Honda HRV, white in color, that had been reported stolen from Orange County.  Several hours later, the same suspects entered the Marathon station at 4138 Cypress Street West.  The suspects took a cash register which was later recovered in Lakeland.  The trio of thieves are believed to be involved with other crimes in the Tampa Bay area.  The black male and black female suspects were captured on store surveillance video.
