HCSO Detectives Ask for Information on Several Vehicle Burglaries in Apollo Beach

On July 14, 2018 at 3:57 a.m., at 6516 King Palm Way in Apollo Beach, two unknown white males burglarized a Chevrolet pickup truck through an unlocked door.  The suspects walked to 6518 King Palm Way and took a 2016 Acura MDX SUV, white in color, which was later recovered in St. Petersburg.  Detectives believe the suspects could be responsible for up to 30 vehicle burglaries in the area.  Surveillance video captured a suspect at the door to a vehicle.  The suspect is described as a white male, 14-16 yoa, thin build, wearing a striped shirt and carrying a light-colored backpack.  The second suspect is a white male, thin build, wearing a hoodie and carrying a backpack.

PCPD Detectives Ask for Information from the Public in Shoe Store Burglary
July 11, 2018

STATUS: OPEN
On July 1, 2018 at 12:41 a.m., an alarm was triggered at Famous Footwear located at 213 Alexander Street West in Plant City.  Two unknown suspects had smashed the front window in order to enter the store.  While inside, the suspects took shoes and socks, with an estimated value at several hundred dollars.  The suspects utilized bicycles to travel to and from the business.  The suspects can be seen wearing dark clothing and black hooded jackets.    Detectives believe the suspects could be the same persons responsible for recent burglaries at cell phone stores in the Plant City area.

HCSO Detectives Search for Suspect who Robbed Victim of Cash While Trying to Purchase iPhones

STATUS: OPEN
On June 30, 2018 at 8:45 p.m., the victim was parked at a gas pump at the 7-Eleven located at 13320 Highway 301 South in Riverview.  The victim had met with the suspect in an attempt to purchase multiple iPhones.  The suspect robbed the victim of his cash while inside the victim's vehicle.  The suspect entered a black compact SUV, possibly a Nissan Rogue, then fled the area.  The suspect is described as a black male, 5'09"-5'11", 240-250 lbs., short dreadlocks and last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black pants.  The suspect was armed with a Glock 9mm semi-auto firearm.

HCSO Detectives Look for Suspects Who Took Coins from Laundromat

STATUS: OPEN
On June 15, 2018 at 3:52 a.m., two white males entered the EZ Wash Laundromat located at 5563 78th Street S., utilized a key to open the coin machines and took approximately $800 in cash and coins.  The theft was interrupted by an audible alarm from a machine.  The suspects are both 20-30 yoa, have short dark hair.  Suspect 1 has facial hair under his chin and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray ball capm white plaid shorts, black socks and Adidas shoes.  Suspect 2 was wearing a black zip-up sweatshirt, dark ball cap, gray shorts, black socks and gray shoes.  The suspects were caught on surveillance video fleeing in a light color Honda Accord, 5th generation 1994-1997 model sedan with a sunroof.

HCSO Detectives Release Surveillance Video of 7-Eleven Robbery Suspect

On June 28, 2018 at 2:24 a.m., a black male entered the 7-Eleven located at 1020 Kings Avenue South in Brandon, implied he had a handgun and demanded money from the cash registers.  The clerk complied and the suspect fled with the cash.  The suspect is described as being 30-40 yoa, 5'09"-5'11", 200-230 lbs., 4-5" goatee and last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with light blue drawstrings, blue dress pants and brown loafer shoes.

HCSO Detectives Seek Information from the Public to Help Identify Suspect(s) Involved with Thefts in Neighborhoods Under Construction

Detectives are asking the public for any information on persons who may be involved with thefts at homes that are under construction in South Hillsborough County. The suspects are entering homes and appear to be targeting mostly new appliances once they are placed in the home. During the month of May, sixty-two (62) new appliances were taken, along with lumber, copper and other miscellaneous items.

Detectives in this area have seen a significant increase in construction thefts. In April there were twenty-one (21) reported incidents, which then spiked to forty-eight (48) in May. So far this year within the District IV boundaries alone, a total of one-hundred thirty-two (132) construction related thefts were reported to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The documented loss to victims is over $119,000.

PCPD Detectives Investigate Pattern of Cell Phone Store Burglaries

STATUS: OPEN
On June 21, 2018 at 12:30 a.m., 3 suspects smashed the front window of Metro PCS located at 1707 James L. Redman Parkway.  Once inside they took approximately $5,000 worth of cell phones and headsets.
 
On June 25, 2018 at 2:54 a.m., 3 suspects smashed the front window of the Sprint located at 2136 James L. Redman Parkway.  The suspects enter the store and office area then took approximately $1,200 in cellphone accessories.  The suspects fled on bicycles.
 
On June 25, 2018 at 3:30 a.m., 3 suspects smash the front window of the Metro PCS located at 1713 Baker Street West.  They entered the store and took headphones valued at approximately $400.
 
Detectives believe that the same suspects are responsible for the burglaries.  In each case, the suspects entered and left the store in approximately one minute.  Surveillance video shows the sspects are carrying backpacks to hold the stolen merchandise.  One suspect can be seen carrying a blue backpack.  The suspects were captured on store surveillance video in the burglary of the Metro PCS on June 21, 2018.  They are wearing dark clothing and gloves.

HCSO Detectives Work to ID Suspects Shopping with Stolen Credit Card

On June 11, 2018 at 9:39 a.m., an unknown white male and white female took the victim's purse from the passenger seat of her vehicle while she was getting gas at the Wawa located at 16620 Highway 301 South in Wimauma.  The suspects then used the victim's credit card at Murphy Gas, Walmart (Wimauma) and Auto Zone to make purchases totaling $1,921.74.  The suspects were seen in a maroon Nissan Xterra.

HCSO Detectives Search for Robbery Suspects

On June 8, 2018 at 2:55 a.m., an unknown Hispanic male struck the victim with a closed fist causing him to fall and strike his head on the concrete sidewalk at Dagwood's Pub located at 8458 Sheldon Road.  The victim sustained a skull fracture.  A female attempted to photograph the suspect and his acquaintance (suspect) as they walked away when they both attacked the female causing her to fall to the ground.  The suspect and his acquaintance took the female victim's cell phone from her hand and fled in a dark colored SUV, possibly a green Ford Expedition.
 
Suspect 1 is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30-40 yoa, approximately 6', over 200 lbs., bald, dark beard and a tribal tattoo on left arm.
Suspect 2 is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 25-35 yoa, 5'9"-5'11", 175 lbs., dark hair, dark goatee, unknown tattoo on left mid arm.

HCSO Detectives Search for Suspects Using Distraction Technique to Steal Wallet

On June 15, 2018 at approximately 1:00 p.m., a white female distracted the victim inside Home Goods at 1945 Lumsden Road in Brandon while a white male took her wallet out of her purse.  The suspects then went to Best Buy, Apple Store, Dick's Sporting Goods and Target to use the stolen credit card to purchase more than $5,473.00 in merchandise.  The female is described as being 5'03"-5'07", 120 lbs. and the male is 5'10"-6', 200 lbs.
