A wallet and two bags containing identification and bank cards were taken. Upon discovering the break-in the bank cards were canceled but not before a card was used numerous times at a Circle K. A Female suspect was caught on video surveillance with the stolen bags and using the stolen bank card.

On 26 May 2022 at around 4:13 PM a male entered the LCBO in the Station Mall located at 293 Bay Street. The suspect spent several minutes in the store before proceeding to the liquor aisle where took a 375 ml bottle of Vodka valued at $16.60 concealing it in his pants. The suspect was checked by staff after becoming suspicious but was unable to locate any bottle. The staff later reviewed video surveillance footage showing the theft.

On the 31 May 2022 at around 2 AM two males broke into the compound of Superior Marine located at 43 Industrial Court. Entry was gained by cutting the lock to the gate. The suspects took gas cans from a boat that was used to fill up a Cub Cadet Lawn tractor that was removed from a crate. The suspects eventually drove away with the Cub Cadet lawn tractor valued at approximately $3000.00.

Over the past 30 days 15 incidents of counterfeit US 50.00 bills passed at several locations in the city were reported to police. On the 28 April 2022 at around 6:00 PM a male entered the Canadian Tire located at 200 McNabb Street and attempted to purchase an item with three counterfeit US 50.00 bills. The clerk became suspicious and notified store security and the incident was caught on video surveillance.

The suspects proceeded to the candy aisle and began filling the bags and pockets with chips and candy bars valued at approximately $225.00. The suspects then walked out of the store without paying for the items.

On 1 March 2022 a person had lost their wallet in the Station Mall and later discovered that the bank cards had been used. The cards were used on 2 March 2022 at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar and at a Circle K. Video surveillance was obtained revealing a young male suspect wearing a hoodie pulled up and a facemask. Although the suspect was covered the video revealed a distinct tattoo on his outer left hand.

SNOWMACHINE THEFT

Theft of Snowmachine Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of theft. On 3 March 2022 at around 11:46 PM two males attended a compound located in the area of Great Northern Road. Entry was gained by cutting the lock at the rear of the compound. The suspects were able to start a 2021 Polaris SKS 850 without a key and drove the snowmachine out to the road. FAIL TO REMAIN MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

On Saturday March 5, 2022, at approximately 12:50 a.m. a pickup truck and a SUV collided on Highway 17 North in Aweres Township.  While the driver of the pickup truck was speaking to the driver of the SUV and was on the phone with police, the female driver of the SUV left the scene.

 

The SUV is described as dark colored older SUV with front end damage.  The driver of the SUV is described as an older female, with long dark hair, glasses and medium build.

Break and Enter at General Outdoors Store in Spanish

Sometime overnight on November 26, 2021, unknown suspects gained entry to the General Outdoors Store in Spanish. Once inside, suspects removed numerous items with an approximate value of $4,100.00. Also taken were 3 cheques worth $15,000 and cash.

The unknown suspect stole a purse from inside the residence including identification, debit, and credit cards.

On October 6, 2021, two suspects broke into the fenced compound of Superior Marine & Small Engine Repair located in Industrial Park. 

The suspects left the business with two lawn tractors and two boat radios. The total value of the property was over $8,500. 

Fortunately, the lawn tractors have been recovered but the boat radios and the identity of the suspects remain unknown.

Outboard Motors Stolen in Blind River
November 08, 2021

Crime Stoppers and the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect(s) involved in two incidents of theft.  

Sometime overnight on October 25, 2021 suspects attended Carlson Brothers Ltd and Blind River Boat Works in the Town of Blind River and removed 2 Honda outboard motors and 2 Yamaha outboard motors from 3 different boats.  Approximate value of the 4 motors is $46,000.00.  

Description of the motors are:

  • 2018 Honda Outboard 225hp Serial # BABJ1804111

  • 2018 Honda Outboard 9.9hp Serial # BAGJ1700267

  • 2020 Yamaha Outboard 60hp Serial # 6CL1034197

  • 2016 Yamaha Outboard 40hp Serial # 6BG1055683

Attempted Robbery at Hornepayne Pharmacy

Crime Stoppers and the Superior East Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of attempted break enter and robbery. 

On September 25, 2021, at approximately 7:00 a.m. an unknown male attended the Hornepayne Pharmacy located on Front St.  The suspect attempted to gain access by smashing the window in the door.  The suspect was met by the owner at the door where the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded narcotics and money.  

The suspect is described as male, approximately 5ft10in, thin build, wearing a dark mask, ball cap, grey hoodie, and a brown jacket.  

The suspect fled the scene prior to gaining entry to the pharmacy and prior to police arrival.

John Deere Tractor Stolen
September 27, 2021

Crime Stoppers and the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of Break, Enter and Theft.

Sometime between the 30th of May 2021 and the 13th of  July 2021 unknown suspects attended Boyer Drive in Johnson Township where they gained entry to the garage by cutting a chain.  Once inside, the suspects removed a 2006/2007 John Deere Tractor Model 3520 green in colour.  VIN LV3520H260140.  Approximate value of the tractor is $40,000.  Also removed was the bill of sale and the registration papers for the tractor.
