Columbia Lakes is experiencing a high number of BMV’s that are resulting in stolen firearms, amongst other common items left in vehicles, and recently a stolen vehicle.
Investigator talked with the neighborhood and gathered video of the suspect from March 16, 2021 and March 27, 2021. After speaking with residents and the gate guard, most everyone seems to think the person responsible is a contractor being housed in the community while working.
Please note the suspect’s shoes, the grey pants with a small reflective logo near the front right pocket, and the orange strap multi-colored backpack.
In one of these images a gun can be seen being held by the suspect, most likely belonging to one of the victims. It is concerning what this suspect may do if confronted by his victim if he is holding a firearm while car hopping. The investigator checked the gate license plate log from both nights and found no matching license plates. If it is not a live-in contractor, they may be sneaking in from Varner Hogg.
