On October 13th, 2018, A 23-year-old man was shot and killed in Northwest Jacksonville early Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Officers called to the scene found the man, later identified as Derian McGoogin, dead in the flowerbed in front of his home on Dublin Court. He had been shot several times.
News4Jax records show the man's death marks Jacksonville's 100th homicide of the year.
State Attorney Melissa Nelson went to the scene of the killing, along with investigators from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
So far, police said they have no suspects in the killing.

On October 4th, 2018, Homicide detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are investigating the death of a man who crashed into a power pole after he was shot Thursday night in the Woodstock neighborhood.
Officers were dispatched about 8 p.m. to Detroit Street just north of Commonwealth Avenue, where a crash with injuries and shooting were reported.
Upon arrival, they found a Ford pickup truck with multiple bullet holes had crashed into a power pole and hit a fence.
Two people were in the pickup truck at the time of the incident, according to police. The driver, later identified as 38 year old Carlos Jefferson, was shot and had life-threatening injuries. He was transported to UF Health, where he later died.
Police said the passenger in the vehicle was identified but was uncooperative.

October 1, 2018, Police are investigating a woman's death as murder after her body was found Monday morning underneath a bridge on Zoo Parkway near Dunn Creek, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
According to the incident report, Dana Renee Danson, 31, was found dead lying on her back wearing only a bikini top, which had been pulled down. The report initially classified the woman's death as undetermined, but police later said her death was being investigated as murder.

September 10th, 2018, A 20-year-old man was found shot to death outside an Arlington apartment complex Monday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Officers responded about 7:40 a.m. to the Justina Villa Apartments on Justina Court, where they said they found a man who had been shot several times.
The man, who was later identified by police as James Reese, died at the scene.
His death is being investigated as a murder, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Jacksonville police are looking for a man driving a white car in connection with the shooting death of a woman at a fast food restaurant in Baymeadows.
The woman, identified by family members on social media as Jamie Roque, 32, was in the process of ordering breakfast Friday morning in the drive-thru line of the McDonald's restaurant on Baymeadows Road between Interstate 95 and Philips Highway when a man approached and shot her, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police called about 8:30 a.m. found Roque in her car with at least one gunshot wound. She was transported to Memorial Hospital, where she died less than an hour later.
July 30th, 2018, Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in an East Arlington hotel parking lot as a murder, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Officers were called just after 11:30 p.m. July 30 to the InTown Suites on St. Johns Bluff Road, near Atlantic Boulevard.
Police said they found a 32-year-old man who had been shot at least once in the parking lot. The man, who was identified as Trevor Neal Matthew, died, police said.

Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a hit-and-run suspect after a motorist struck and killed a Jacksonville pedestrian early Saturday.
Jacksonville resident Marvin L. Corley, 41, was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle at about 6 a.m. Saturday, June 9th.
The vehicle was traveling west on U.S. 90 (West Beaver Street) and approaching Wheeler Avenue. Corley was walking east on the westbound outside shoulder of U.S. 90 toward Watershed Drive. For unknown reasons, the motorist traveled off the road to the right, causing the right front end of the vehicle to strike Corley, a news release said.
FHP currently does not know the make and model of the vehicle that hit Corley but says it may be a red/maroon vehicle with a red tail lens missing and/or damage on the right side.
