Theft of Motor Vehicles in Champaign County
September 17, 2018

On September 13, 2018, at 9:16 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 Block of North Cottonwood Road (Arend Bros. John Deere dealership) to investigate a report of motor vehicle thefts. Officers learned that during the evening hours of September 12, 2018, an unknown suspect(s) forced entry to the property and stole a white 2012 Chevrolet Silverado delivery truck with the name “John Deere” and initials “AHW” depicted on the side, and a green John Deere (Gator) Utility Vehicle. Officers received information that the delivery truck was possibly in the area of Farmer City. The value of both vehicles stolen total over $100,000.00.

Theft and Deceptive Practices in Champaign
September 10, 2018

On Monday, July 2, 2018, at approximately 12:15 p.m., two black females entered the Hatha Yoga & Fitness, located at 2109 S. Neil St., and distracted an employee while stealing a purse from a locker. The credit cards inside the stolen purse have been used at several businesses in the area.
 
The suspects are described as two black females, one in her 50’s and heavyset, the other female in her 30’s and skinny. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspects who were captured on video.

Armed Robbery in Rantoul
September 04, 2018

On Friday, August 24, 2018, at approximately 10:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Circle K gas station, located at 1295 E. Grove Ave. in Rantoul, for a reported armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers located a victim who reported she was returning to her vehicle when she was approached by a male suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect demanded US currency from the victim before fleeing the area northbound on foot.
 
The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male, approximately 5'00" to 5'05" tall, 150 pounds, with a mustache and possibly a small goatee. The suspect was last seen wearing all dark-colored clothing.


Deceptive Practices in the city of Champaign
August 27, 2018

On August 10, 2018 between 4:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., a male suspect used a stolen credit card for purchases at Circle K, located at 1503 N. Neil St., Dollar General at 817 Bloomington Rd., and at Walgreens at 841 Bloomington Rd., all in Champaign.
 
The suspect was described as a heavy set, shorter black male wearing a dark colored hat, white tank top, and dark shorts. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect who was captured on
video.

Armed Robbery at Circle K in Champaign
August 20, 2018

On August 13, 2018 at approximately 10:34 p.m., officers received a report of an armed robbery that occurred at the Circle K, located at 1713 W. John St. in Champaign. The male suspect brandished a firearm as he approached employees and demanded cigarettes and currency. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
 
The suspect was described as a black male in his mid-20’s, 5’10” tall and appeared to have a skinny build. The male was last seen wearing a black mask, a red hoodie pulled up around his face, and dark colored pants.

Shots Fired in Champaign
August 13, 2018

On August 6, 2018 at approximately 1:12 p.m., officers received reports of shots fired in the 600-block of Crescent Dr. in Champaign. Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area and found no victims, but were able to recover shell casings at the scene.
 
A dark complected black male was seen in the area at the time of the shooting. No clothing description was
provided.


Deceptive Practices in the City of Champaign
August 06, 2018

On June 19, 2018 at approximately 8:23 p.m. and then shortly afterwards, just prior to 9:00 p.m., a black female entered two Walgreens stores in Champaign and made purchases with stolen credit/debit cards. The first cards were used at Walgreens at 407 E. Green St., then within minutes cards were used by the same female at the Walgreens located at 841 Bloomington Rd. In total, the credit/debit cards were used to make over $400.00 in purchases.
 
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black female, short and thin, last seen wearing a white polo shirt, black pants, and was carrying a black purse. The female was seen leaving the area in a late model SUV, possibly a Toyota. The vehicle was dark in color and appeared to have a sunroof.

A Shooting in Urbana
July 30, 2018

On July 20, 2018 at approximately 11:40 p.m., police officers were dispatched to multiple reports of shots fired in the 1300 block of Beech St. in Urbana. Officers arrived a short time later and found the victim of a shooting, a 14-year-old male. The victim had been struck by gunfire. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. A search of the area led to the discovery of shell casings, and a nearby house was also struck by gunfire, but no injuries occurred inside of the residence.

Burglary in Rantoul
July 23, 2018

On July 13, 2018 at approximately 8:02 p.m., Officers were dispatched to NAPA Auto Parts, 892 W. Champaign Ave. in Rantoul, for an alarm activation. Upon arrival officers discovered someone had forced entry to the building. The suspect(s) was able to pry open a metal cash drawer and steal an undisclosed amount
of US Currency, prior to leaving the building. No suspect description is available at this time.

July 16, 2018

On July 11, 2018 at approximately 2:06 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Walgreens, located at 1713 W. Springfield Avenue in Champaign. A male suspect armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded money from an employee. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency.
 
The suspect was described as a black male in his 30’s, 5’9” tall and 170 lbs. He was last seen wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt pulled tight around his face, gray pants and a black bookbag.

Armed Robbery in Champaign
July 09, 2018

On July 1, 2018 at approximately 12:35 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Circle K, located at 1101 N. Prospect in Champaign. Two male suspects entered the store, brandished a firearm, and ordered the clerk and other customers to move into the restrooms. The suspects stole cash and cigarettes from the store and personal property from the victims before exiting the building.
 
The suspects were described as black males in their 20’s, with both wearing dark-colored pants. One suspect was described as taller, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, and the other suspect was shorter, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Both sweatshirts were pulled up and around the faces of the suspects.

Retail Theft at Macy's in Champaign
July 02, 2018

On June 12, 2018 at approximately 5:10 p.m., three female suspects stole clothing from Macy’s, located at 2000 N. Neil, Champaign. After selecting numerous items, the females entered the fitting rooms and concealed the clothing before exiting the building. The clothing items taken were valued at over $1000.00.
 
The three suspects were all black females, with two shown in this photo. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspects who were captured on video.

Burglary of Motor Vehicles and Motor Vehicle Theft in Savoy
June 25, 2018

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding several Burglary from Motor Vehicles (BMVs) as well as a Motor Vehicle Theft.
 
Since the beginning of June 2018 there has been five (5) BMVs reported that occurred at different locations throughout Savoy. The BMVs are believed to be taking place during the nighttime and early morning hours. Items taken from the vehicles include currency and electronics.
 
Investigators are also seeking information regarding a Motor Vehicle Theft that occurred on June 13th, 2018 near the Walmart in Savoy. The vehicle taken is described as a white 2003 Dodge Caravan. I


A Shooting in Urbana at Lincoln and Bradley Avenues
June 18, 2018

On Thursday, June 7, 2018 at approximately 3:47 a.m., the victim was sitting at a stop light at Lincoln and Bradley Avenues in Urbana. An unknown offender pulled up next to the victim and shot at him twice. The victim was struck and sustained an injury to his finger. The offender left westbound on Bradley in a silver vehicle. The victim drove to a hospital for treatment.

Shooting on Falcon Dr. In Rantoul
June 11, 2018

On Friday, June 1, 2018 at approximately 9:26 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Falcon Dr., Rantoul, for reports of an armed subject. While enroute, the officers were advised that shots had been fired, and
upon arrival, officers located a 21-year-old male who had been shot. The victim was transported to Carle Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Several shots had also been fired into an apartment where the victim was located. An adult female and a juvenile female inside the apartment were not injured. Several spent shell casings were located in the roadway and two vehicles had been struck by gunfire.
 
Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect fleeing the area on foot and then entering a light-colored four-door vehicle. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect(s) involved in this shooting.


Theft at Panera Bread in Champaign
June 04, 2018

On May 22, 2018 at approximately 1:15 p.m., a subject stole the victim's wallet from within her purse while in Panera Bread on W. Kirby Ave. in Champaign. The victim's debit card was later used at Target in Decatur, IL to purchase $800 worth of pre-paid gift cards.
 
The suspect is a black male and was last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt, dark colored pants and a black baseball cap. The suspect appears to wear glasses and have a goatee, additionally he walks with a cane. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect who was captured on video.

Residential Burglary in the City of Champaign
May 29, 2018

A Champaign apartment was broken into sometime between April 27th and April 29th, 2018. Electronic devices were stolen during this burglary and were later pawned at the Pawn King, located in Urbana, IL. The suspect was described as a black male with short hair and sunglasses. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect who was captured on video.

Retail Theft at Kohl's
May 21, 2018

On April 23, 2018 at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers were notified of a shoplifting which took place the previous evening at Kohl’s, located at 109 Convenience Center Rd. in Champaign. Kohl’s loss prevention investigators advised that two suspects were observed on video concealing merchandise prior to exiting the building. The subjects left in a black or gray sport utility vehicle.
 
The suspects were described as a black male and black female couple in their 20’s. The male was wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt and tan pants, and the female was wearing a white Levi’s shirt with black leggings.

Pedestrian Hit and Run in the City of Champaign
May 14, 2018

On Saturday May 5th, 2018 officers responded to a pedestrian hit and run accident on Barker Road south of Windsor Road in Champaign. The pedestrian was running southbound on Barker Road when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, suffering non-life-threatening injuries. Two possible witness vehicles could be a dark blue early 2000’s Chrysler minivan or a dark blue early 2000’s Chevrolet S-10 style pickup truck.

Home Invasion and Robbery in Champaign
May 07, 2018

In the early morning hours of April 22, 2018, police officers responded to a call of a home invasion and robbery that occurred in the 50 block of East John Street.
 
Three unknown male suspects forced their way into the residence, which was occupied by a female victim. The suspects were armed with a pistol, entered the residence, and held the victim at gunpoint. The suspects took a semi-auto handgun and an Apple iPhone from the residence before fleeing. The victim was not injured during the robbery.
 
The victim described all three suspects as black males. One of the suspects was described to officers as approximately 6’ tall and wearing a black shirt, black sweater, khaki pants, and a gray and black ball cap.
