The Montgomery Police Department is currently investigating the theft of a Penske 26’ Rental Truck.
Investigators advise that on October 3, 2020, two unknown males stole a Penske 26’ Rental truck from the 1700 block of Ridgeway West in Montgomery, AL. No other details were released.
Investigators are hoping that someone will be able to identify the Auto Theft suspects through the released photos.

The Prattville Police Department is currently investigating the theft of a 2018 Dodge Durango SRT.
Investigators advise that on August 27, 2020 at approximately 3:00 am, the Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealership had a 2018 Dodge Durango SRT (silver) stolen from the front of their parking lot. An unknown male suspect can be seen on security video entering the vehicle before driving it off the lot. A second unknown suspect was captured on security cameras following the stolen vehicle driving a dark colored Chevrolet truck. Intelligence obtained from the dealership suggest that the vehicle might be sold on Facebook Marketplace in the Birmingham area.
Investigators are hoping that someone will be able to identify the Auto Theft suspects through the released photos and video.

The United States Marshals Service has officially notified CrimeStoppers of the capture of multi-state fugitive Brandon Wesley Sanford.
The fugitive listed, Brandon Wesley Sanford (W/M) (6’2) (300lbs) (37 yoa), was wanted by the State of West Virginia Department of Corrections, Iowa State Police, and the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama for numerous criminal charges. United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force Supervisor David Onofry advised Sanford’s criminal history shows approximately 50 plus charges in the State of Alabama alone to include Theft of Property, Receiving Stolen Property, Fraudulent use of a credit card, Burglary, Domestic Violence, Criminal Mischief, Obstruction, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Prison contraband. He has been on the run since June 24, 2020. The warrants have been active for Autauga County since 2018.
The United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, assisted by the USMS Task Force Birmingham, used an anonymous tip from CrimeStoppers to locate and arrest Sanford at an unknown address in Walker County, Alabama on Sunday, November 1, 2020.

In the early morning hours of 10/13/20 four Opelika businesses were burglarized. The Opelika Police Department needs the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects that were captured on camera.
The first suspect, described as a black male with an afro style haircut, can be seen wearing a t-shirt.
The second suspect, described as a black male, can be seen wearing a hoodie and appears to have a Star of David tattoo on his neck.
The third suspect, described as a black male with a close haircut, can be seen wearing a t-shirt and neck scarf. He has tattoos on both arms and one above his left eyebrow. The tattoo on his left forearm appears to be a skull or grim reaper. A part of his tattoo sleeve on his right arm looks like it contains flames.

Video surveillance captures an individual dressed in a hoodie wearing gloves and a hockey mask.

Thomas Anthony Green was reported missing from the 900 block of N. Donahue Drive in Auburn, Alabama on September 6, 2020. On September 10, 2020, Green’s body was located in a rural area in the 9000 block of Lee Road 188 in Waverly, Alabama.

The Alabama State University Department of Public Safety has officially notified CrimeStoppers that warrants have been secured charging a 20-year-old with the Murder of missing student Adam Dowdell Jr.
CrimeStoppers has been informed that Chicago resident Ivry Hall has been formally charged with Murder. Hall turned himself over to authorities on Friday, September 18, 2020.
Adam Dowdell Jr.’s body was located near the old BTW High School in the 800 block of Hutchinson Street on Monday, September 14, 2020. The body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy. Evidence revealed Dowdell had been fatally shot.

The Alexander City Police Department is currently investigating a Murder investigation that occurred at the Benson Community Center. Alexander City Investigators believe that the Murder stemmed from an incident that occurred earlier in the night where a fight broke out in the parking lot of the Community Center. Unknown individuals later returned with firearms and shot two people and multiple vehicles. Security was employed on the scene and broke the fight up prior to the shootings taking place. The police are currently investigating the charges of Murder, Assault 1st Degree, and multiple cases of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied/Unoccupied Vehicle.
On September 6, 2020, Alexander City Police responded to the Benson Community Center around 2 a.m. Upon arrival, an Officer heard gunshots and called for other officers to assist with traffic control. After searching the area, Officers found a 20-year-old male, from Dadeville, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The gunshot victim was transported to the Russell Medical Center by an ambulance where he later died due to his injuries.
While Alexander City Investigators were at Russell Medical Center gathering evidence on the initial shooting incident, they found that there was a second gunshot victim from the same incident. A 32-year-old male was identified and had gunshot wounds to the leg. It was later determined that the two incidents occurred in the same area. His injuries are non-life threatening.

The Millbrook Police Department is currently investigating a Fraud investigation that occurred at a retail store.
On August 15, 2020, an unknown male and female entered a retail store located in the 100 block of Kelley Blvd, and approached a cashier in order to load a Green Dot Prepaid Card. The two were able to perform what’s called the Cash Out Scam on the cashier.
The scam started as the cashier retrieved the card in which cost $3.74, the subjects then attempted to load money on the card. Once the cashier retrieved the card, the cashier loaded $400.00 onto the card and was swindled by the subjects to press the cash button, so that they could receive an additional $800.00 cash back.
Investigators advise that the pictured scam artists are targeting new or young cashiers to conduct their scams. They were last seen driving a small, 4 door white sedan, unknown make model or direction of travel.

The Alabama State University Department of Public Safety has officially notified CrimeStoppers that two suspects have been identified that were previously wanted for questioning in reference to an on campus shooting investigation.
The suspects were identified as Fultondale, AL resident Willie Smith Jr. (17 yoa) and McCalla, AL resident Rodrick Lawhorn Jr. (19 yoa). Smith turned himself over to the Alabama State University Department of Public Safety on August 19, 2020. Investigators requested that the two turn themselves in after receiving tips from CrimeStoppers and other Law Enforcement Agencies. Lawhorn has yet to turn himself in to be interviewed. The investigation is still ongoing. Based on witness testimony and video surveillance, possible criminal warrants for Reckless Endangerment on both individuals are pending.
A reward is being offered by CrimeStoppers that did lead to the identity of one or more suspects. The anonymous tipster is urged to respond to the P3 app or call CrimeStoppers to claim reward.

The Alabama State University Department of Public Safety released photos of two unknown males wanted for questioning in reference to an on campus shooting investigation.
ASU Public Safety Investigators advise that three people were injured in a shooting that occurred on campus. The shooting took place on Saturday, August 15th at approximately 11:40 pm in the Acadome parking lot. The shooting victims include an ASU student and two non-university students. All three suffered minor injuries.

On Sunday, July 26, 2020, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Montgomery Police Patrol units responded to the 2200 Block of West Fairview Ave regarding a subject suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Lee Ziegler and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Montgomery Police Department is seeking assistance from the public into the Murder Investigation of Lee Ziegler.
Montgomery Police Detectives seek additional information regarding the suspect’s vehicle and the identification of anyone known to operate the vehicle. The vehicle described as a Blue Ford Expedition with a switched Alabama tag displaying (3BH2542). The vehicle is also missing a center cap, and the tag is hanging from the bumper of the vehicle. The vehicle was last seen occupied by a Black Female, wearing a white t-shirt and black pants and a bonnet on her head.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating a Hate Crime that occurred in Macon County.
Federal Agents based out of Auburn, Alabama advised that they are continuing their investigation of a Cross Burning that occurred in Macon County on June 4, 2020. The cross burning took place on the County Road 54 overpass of I-85 at approximately 8:45 p.m.
Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest of the person(s) involved. According to Macon County Sheriff Andre Brunson, the cross was positioned between two tires on an overpass above Interstate 85. Bystanders spotted the burning cross, which had fallen onto the overpass rail, and moved the cross so that it would not fall onto the roadway below. In addition to the burned cross, the offender(s) spray painted graffiti, to include the N-word.
Perpetrators commit hate crimes to send a message of anger or hatred. Their goal is to create fear.

On Thursday, July 25, 2019, Montgomery Police Patrol units responded to the 4700 Block of Park Towne Way regarding a subject suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as black male Laquintin Brown, who was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The Montgomery Police Department is seeking assistance from the public into the Murder of Laquintin Brown. The four suspects captured on video surveillance are wanted for questioning regarding this Murder Investigation. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has offered a $2,500.00 reward for any information leading to the immediate arrest of anyone involved in this crime, to be paid within 30 days.
