The Alabama Department of Corrections notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised they are seeking a fugitive wanted for escape.
The Alabama Department of Corrections is requesting public assistance in locating, fugitive, Jordan Andrew Thomas, 30, who is described as a black male, 5’8” in height, and weighs approximately 120 lbs.
On Monday, August 7, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Staton Correctional Facility located in Elmore County advised inmate, Jordan Andrew Thomas had escaped from the facility.
Investigators say Thomas was last seen wearing his brown khaki state uniform. There are no other details available for release at this time.
Thomas is currently serving a 75-year sentence for murder.

The Montgomery Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in reference to an assault investigation that occurred on Friday, July 28, 2023.
On Friday, July 28, 2023, at about 4:35 p.m., MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 5200 block of Vaughn Road in reference to a subject shot. Contact was made with an adult male victim who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. It was determined that the offense occurred in the roadway. There is no additional information available for release in connection to this continuing investigation.
On August 1, 2023, the owner of the Stivers Ford Dealership in Montgomery, AL, Eddie Stivers, announced a reward of $10,000.00 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person involved in the assault of the victim. Mr. Stivers advised that the victim is a close member of the Stivers Ford Family and wanted to do something on his behalf.
“Not a lot of information has been released from the police department except that the shooting incident occurred in the roadway. If this is a case of road rage, this individual needs to be taken off the streets immediately. For a person to shoot at another because of a traffic misunderstanding is not acceptable in today’s society. If this is not the case and you are the person involved, come forward and tell your side of the story,” said CrimeStoppers Executive Director Tony Garrett.

I believe a lot of people witnessed this incident and might be holding on to photos, video, or their recollection of what occurred. On October 2, 2022, at about 2:13 a.m., police responded to a local hospital in reference to a walk-in patient suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators determined the shooting occurred at the intersection of Taft Street and Malvern Street. Police identified the victim as Reginald Woods, 23, of Montgomery. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Montgomery Police Investigators ask anyone who was present during the shooting to please come forward and speak with investigators. Anyone with information identifying the suspect will be eligible for a cash reward.

The Sylacauga Police Department is asking the public for their help. On Sunday, July 2, 2023, at approximately 1:00 AM, Sylacauga Police were dispatched to a shooting call at the corner of Virginia Avenue and Scrooge Alley, in the old Avondale Mill Village. When officers arrived, they found the victim, Jason Anthony Swain, Jr. of N. Cannon Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama. Swain had been shot and bystanders were attempting to help him on the scene. Sylacauga Ambulance arrived and transported Swain to Coosa Valley Medical Center for treatment. Officers were notified by Coosa Valley Medical staff that Swain had died as a result of the gunshot wound to his chest. At this time there are no suspects in custody.
Sylacauga Investigators and members of the Talladega County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force are looking for a suspect at this time and will work diligently to locate that suspect and uncover the motive behind the shooting. On June 21, 2023, the Opelika Police Department contacted CrimeStoppers and requested assistance identifying the suspects involved in a June 15, 2023, retail theft.
Opelika Police Investigators released a photo of two unknown subjects wanted for a retail felony theft investigation. On Sunday, May 14, 2023, at about 12:02 a.m., police responded to the 5500 block of Atlanta Highway in reference to shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, units located an adult male who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Jarquis Willis, 28, of Montgomery.
While at a local area hospital, investigators located two adult male victims who each sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and one adult female who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. All victims were transported by personal vehicles to a local hospital for treatment.
The shooting remains under investigation and no other details are available for release at this time.
Investigators are seeking answers and are asking anyone with information to please come forward and help solve this ongoing homicide investigation.

The Alabama Department of Corrections has officially notified CrimeStoppers of the recapture of escaped inmate Tandion Markeeice Stoudemire. Stoudemire was wanted for Escape.
ADOC said officers with its agency, along with help from the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, located Stoudemire around 8 a.m. Friday. He was found in the 3900 block of Woodley Road and taken into custody without incident.
Tandion Stoudemire was serving a 23-year prison sentence for Attempted Murder at the Staton Correctional Facility located at 2690 Marion Spillway Road in Elmore, Alabama. On May 25, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Stoudemire is believed to have escaped.
In addition to Stoudemire, law enforcement arrested a second person, identified as Acacia Laraea Stallworth, a civilian now charged with facilitating Stoudemire’s escape. She has since been released on bond.
An investigation into the escape is ongoing. No other information was released.

The Talladega Police Department is seeking information regarding a May 6, 2023, homicide investigation.
On Wednesday, May 6, 2023, at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers with the Talladega Police Department were dispatched to 4525 Howell Cove Road in reference to a welfare check on the resident. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence due to the nature of the call. Once inside, officers located an adult male. The male was identified as Johnathan Vann Boyd, 43. Investigators say Boyd sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

On Thursday, May 4, 2023, at about 10:45 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of McGinnis Road in reference to a found body. Upon arrival, units located an adult male who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. The victim was identified as Lomax Hornsby, 58, of Montgomery.
The shooting remains under investigation and no other details are available for release at this time. Investigators are seeking answers and are asking anyone with information to please come forward and help solve this ongoing homicide investigation.

The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a business burglary that occurred on the south side of town and is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
Montgomery Police Investigators released a photo of two unknown subjects wanted for burglary. The offense occurred, Monday, April 10, 2023, in the 2600 block of Eastern South Boulevard, Montgomery, Alabama. Investigators say the suspects drove a white van into the business, causing significant damage. The suspects entered the business and stole multiple tires and rims.
The suspects were seen on video footage and are described as two black males wearing dark clothing, face coverings, and sweatshirts. The pictured white van is a Ford, displaying a Montgomery tag.

The Prattville Police Department is seeking information regarding a felony retail theft investigation.
Prattville Police Investigators released a photo of an unknown subject wanted for theft of property 1st degree. On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at around 9:15 a.m., at Lowes, located at 2307 Cobbs Ford Road, Prattville, Alabama, investigators say the pictured suspect, described as a white male, entered the property, took an Ariens Ikon lawn mower valued at $3,999.00, The suspect loaded the mower onto a black utility trailer that was hooked up to an older model Dodge Durango. The suspect left the scene in an unknown direction of travel.
Investigators say a short time later, the suspect also attempted to steal a lawn mower in the same fashion from a business in Montgomery, Alabama. Photos from both incidents are being released by investigators in an effort to identify the suspect.
The suspect is wanted for theft of property 1st degree, which is a Class C felony.
