Investigators say the pictured suspects, identified as a white and black male, were seen stealing a U-Haul rental trailer. The white male suspect was seen backing up a newer model white in-color Dodge Ram 1500 and hooking up the trailer. The other suspect was seen pulling up in a Ford Excursion and appeared to assist with the theft. There are no other details available for release at this time.

The Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a UTV theft that occurred in Tallapoosa County, AL, and seeks the public’s help in identifying the suspects.

 

Investigators released photos of a white in-color Ford Ranger pulling a black trailer driven by an unknown person and an unknown passenger occupying the vehicle. The suspects are wanted for the theft of a UTV. The offense occurred, on July 17, 2023, at around 6:30 p.m. in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.

 

Investigators say the suspect described as a black male, purchased the pictured UTV, a 2019 Polaris Ranger side-by-side with a fake cashier’s check in the amount of $19,000.00. When asked to see I.D., the suspect told the victim that he had forgotten his wallet and began acting nervous. The victim reluctantly accepted the check and the suspect left with the UTV in the pictured vehicle.

Investigators say the victim believed he observed a “46” on the suspect’s Alabama license plate on the back of his vehicle. There are no other details available for release at this time.

Investigators say the pictured suspect, seen in a motorized cart, entered the checkout lane to purchase $5.00 in merchandise. The suspect produced a $100.00 bill to make the transaction. The suspect intentionally confused the cashier by asking for change multiple times, receiving currency each time.  The suspect was accompanied by another adult male. 

The men left the scene in a blue Hyundai passenger car in an unknown direction of travel.

Investigators say surveillance video shows the suspect, identified as a black male, seen wearing a tan bucket hat, black t-shirt, black shorts, and black shoes. The suspect is accompanied by a tall black male wearing a black Aeropostale t-shirt and red shorts. There are no other details available for release at this time.
