The Opelika Police Department has officially notified CrimeStoppers that a suspect involved in the January 19th Murder Investigation that occurred on Chester Avenue has been taken into custody.

 

On 01/19/2021 the Opelika Police Department began investigating a shooting that occurred in the 100 Block of Chester Avenue. The 28-year-old male victim later died at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown in Columbus, GA.

 

On 01/20/2021 at 5:00 PM OPD Detectives arrested Cordezmond Rashaud Harris, 33 yoa from Opelika, AL, on warrants for Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling or Vehicle. Harris is being held at the Lee County Jail.

 

This case is still active, and Investigators are still seeking witnesses and information.

The Prattville Police Department is currently seeking the identity of a male wanted for Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card / Identity Theft. 

 

On January 17, 2021, a victim reported fraudulent charges made to his debit card in the 2700 block of Legends Drive. The victim was notified by his bank of the fraudulent charges to his card. The victim advised he was still in possession of his card and was unsure of how his card information was compromised.

 

Security video from the business showed an unknown male suspect using the victim’s card to make several purchases in the self-checkout area of the business. The suspect entered a dark colored passenger vehicle before exiting the parking lot.

 

Investigators released video and still images of the suspect.

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male and can be seen wearing a light-colored hat with a flag, glasses, a black mask, a black windbreaker with white edging and gray pants.

One subject is described as a slender white female and the other is described as a black male medium build. They were seen driving a dark colored early 2000 Chevrolet Suburban, no tag number or direction of travel were obtained.

The first suspect is described as a black female wearing a camouflage jacket, black pants and black and white slides. The second suspect described as a black female wearing a black dress, blue jean jacket, black slides and a pink mask. The third suspect described as a black female wearing a black shirt with a yellow butterfly, blue jean jacket, black pants and a black mask.

 

They were seen leaving in an unknown black vehicle.
