011/21 News Release - Witnesses to Assault Wanted
March 02, 2021

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like the public’s assistance in locating witnesses of an Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer that occurred fronting the Waimanalo 7-Eleven located at 41-1540 Kalanianaole Highway.

 

On Monday, March 1, 2021, at approximately 10:28 p.m., an HPD officer was sent to a call regarding a male that refused to leave the Waimanalo 7-Eleven.  Upon the officers arrival he approached the male at which time the male physically assaulted the officer.  There were two witnesses who assisted the officer in apprehending the suspect.  Investigators would like to speak to the witnesses regarding the incident.

009/21 News Release - Attempted Murder Suspect Wanted
February 26, 2021

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.

 

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at approximately 1:58 a.m., at the intersection of Kawaihao Street and Kamani Street, an unknown male driving a white colored four-door sedan discharged a firearm and hit the victim once resulting in injury.

 

Suspect: Unknown local Asian male

Age:  30s

Hair: Flat top

Clothing: Unknown but was seen wearing a gaiter face mask

Weapon: Dark colored handgun

February 23, 2021

UPDATE: 23-year-old Jake Edwards has been charged with second-degree murder following Tuesday's fatal stabbing in Hawaii Kai. Bail is set at 1,000,000.

 

HPD Officers arrested a 23 year old male for Murder in the Second Degree in connection to a fatal stabbing that happened in the Hawaii Kai area at 10:00 a.m. this morning. The investigation is ongoing.

***UPDATE***
This shooting was not a random incident. The parties involved have a past history.
 

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at approximately 1:58 a.m., a 37 year old male victim was walking on Kawaihao Street in the Kakaako area when he was involved in a verbal altercation with another male. As the argument escalated, the male shot the victim with a handgun and fled in a newer white colored sedan. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The suspect was described as a local Asian male, fair complexion, with dark short hair with a flat top. It appears that this was not a random incident. Today an Oahu Grand-Jury indicted Keith Catolico for the kidnapping and Kahala home invasion robbery which occurred in November 2020. HPD later arrested him on the grand jury warrant. Bail has been set at $1 million dollars. Detectives are continuing to actively investigate the home invasion robberies.

007/21 News Release - Gift Card Scam
February 17, 2021

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public of a gift card scam that is currently occurring.

 

There have been reports of people receiving a cashier’s check in the mail.  People are being instructed to cash the check, purchase gift cards from various stores, and to complete a survey on their shopping experience.  They are then instructed to take photographs of the gift cards and to email the information. Participants are then instructed to keep a portion of the cashier’s check for their time.

 

Do not participate in any type of surveys which is accompanied by a check and instructing you to participate in a survey by purchasing gift cards.  We are seeing more scams involving gift cards because they are more difficult to track.

006/21 Cruelty to Animals Suspect Wanted
February 16, 2021

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect wanted for Cruelty to Animals in the First Degree.

 

On Saturday, February 13, 2021, a cat that had been shot with an arrow was recovered at the Koko Head District Park. The arrow was able to be removed and the cat is expected to make a recovery.

002/21 News Release Robbery Suspects Wanted
February 05, 2021

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two males who are wanted for Robbery in the First Degree.

 

On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at approximately 1:39 a.m., two males arrived at 500 Ala Moana Boulevard on their motorcycles.  One of the males brandished a handgun and ordered a security guard onto the ground and took his work radio and cell phone. One of the males then used a hammer to shatter the window of the Opal Fields jewelry store where they both entered and proceeded to take various items. Both males then fled on their motorcycles.

001/21 News Release - Failure to Render Aid Suspect Wanted
January 08, 2021

 

 

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of a motor vehicle collision which occurred in the Ward area.

 

On Sunday, January 3, 2021, at approximately 12:56 a.m., a pedestrian was sitting on the roadway on Alapai Street just south of South Beretania Street when he was struck by a white SUV that was heading north on Alapai Street.  The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene.  The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and pronouncement of death was made.  

 

Suspect Vehicle:     

White SUV, Possibly a Toyota 4Runner.  Possible damages to front bumper area.

076/20 News Release - Attempted Murder Suspect Wanted
December 30, 2020

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s
assistance in identifying two males who are wanted for an Attempted Murder in
the Second Degree case that occurred in the Kapiolani area.

On Monday, December 28, 2020, at approximately 4:36 p.m., a female victim
was walking on Ho’olai Street when a male passenger of a white Ford transit van
fired multiple shots at the victim. The van, which was being operated by another
male, fled westbound on Ho’olai Street. The victim was transported to an area
hospital in critical condition.
