042/20 News Release - Failure to Render Aid Suspect Wanted
July 07, 2020

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of a motor vehicle collision which occurred in the Waianae area.

On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 1:42 a.m., a female pedestrian was walking on the westbound shoulder lane of Farrington Highway west of Lahilahi Street when she was struck by a passing vehicle that was also traveling westbound on Farrington Highway.  The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene.  The pedestrian was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The vehicle that fled was possibly a brown or dark colored van and may have also sustained front end damage.

May 12, 2020

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of a motor vehicle collision which occurred in the Ewa Beach area.

On Thursday, April 23, 2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a bicyclist was traveling westbound on Papipi Road when it was struck by a white van at the intersection of Papipi Road and Meleikekai Street.  The driver of the van did not stop and fled the scene eastbound on Papipi Road.  The bicyclist was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.  Witnesses describe the van as possibly being a Nissan Quest with a Caucasian male driver in his 60s.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a female who is wanted for Robbery in the Second Degree.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at approximately 2:55 p.m., a female entered the Kapolei Central Pacific Bank and handed the teller a demand note. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and was later seen being picked up in a dark colored full size pickup truck.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department want to warn the public about an extortion scam that is occurring via email.

There is a scam that is occurring via email.  Victims are receiving a message stating that a hacker has compromised your computer and used your webcam to record a video of you while you were watching inappropriate material on the internet.  The hacker threatens to release the video to all your contacts unless you pay a Bitcoin ransom.

Tips to remember, do not open any attachments from people that you do not know.  Consider turning off your computer’s camera and covering them when not in use.  Do not pay any ransom.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of a motor vehicle collision which occurred in the Nanakuli area.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at approximately 4:00p.m., the driver of a moped was traveling eastbound on Farrington Highway when it stopped to make a left turn onto Helelua Street. While waiting to make the turn, the driver of the moped was struck from behind by a black SUV. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene. The driver of the moped wastransported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as being ablack SUV possibly a Jeep type vehicle with unknown license plates.

027/20 News Release - Domestic Violence During COVD-19

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public about resources that are available for Domestic Violence victims.  

Domestic Violence is a heinous crime and is always of great concern especially during this challenging time.

Experts say that abusive environments can grow under the stresses created by stay-at-home orders and other uncertainties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Victims might find themselves stuck in close quarters with abusive partners, family members or acquaintances, making them more susceptible to abuse and lacking the privacy and space to freely reach out to the outside world for help.

Be aware of the signs of frustration or if an argument is about to ensue, walk away to another room. Take a time out and cool down.

Reach out for support through family or friends via your phone or email.

There are resources available for victims including crisis hotlines and shelters.

The Domestic Violence Action Center helpline can explore ways to find you a safe place.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who may have information helpful to an investigation.  

On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, the male depicted in the photos was seen at the Long’s Drugs in Kahala Mall before leaving on a city bus. Investigators believe that he has information which would be helpful to an investigation.
