CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to ask the public for their assistance in locating witnesses in regards to a deceased female that was located in the Kapolei area.
On Thursday, June 30, 2022, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Honolulu Fire Department, while extinguishing a brush fire, discovered a deceased female in the Kapolei area. The female was identified as Chasidy Leihualani Alvarez. The Honolulu Police Department is seeking anyone with information regarding her last known whereabouts.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public about a fake jewelry scam that is occurring.
There have been reports of individuals approaching people over various parts of the island and asking them if they would like to purchase jewelry that appear to be authentic. The individuals are stating that they are in desperate need of cash and are willing to sacrifice the jewelry for a discounted price. Please do not purchase any jewelry from strangers on the streets. Purchases should only be made through reputable dealers or stores.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public of a puppy scam that is currently occurring.
There have been reports of people attempting to purchase a puppy online from either Facebook Market Place or Craigslist. The sellers are requesting a deposit in order to ship or to hold the puppy. The buyer then pays the initial deposit but the seller then ends all communication.
Be careful when making purchases online and do not pay a deposit to the seller before receiving the puppy. We encourage the community to make animal purchases through a reputable pet store or consider adopting one from the Hawaiian Humane Society or rescue shelter.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public of an extortion scam that is currently occurring.
There are reports that victims are meeting people online from social media platforms or dating apps. The victims then engage in conversations with the other person and are instructed to engage in inappropriate behavior or to send lewd photos. Once the victim engages in the behavior the other person then threatens to disseminate the lewd photos or videos unless a ransom is paid.
We advise the public to not comply with requests to send lewd videos or photos.

CrimeStoppers and the Department of the Attorney General Investigations Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Unauthorized Control of Propelled Vehicle in the First Degree.
On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at approximately 3:00 a.m., an unknown male attempted to drive off with a rental car which was parked inside of the rental car facility located at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. The male was not able to exit the facility due to a closed gate. The male then asked the employee for the code to the gate but was denied this information. The male then abandoned the vehicle and fled the area on foot.

CrimeStoppers and the United States Marshals is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Rockford Matsuura, who is wanted for a No Bail Warrant of Arrest for Violating the Terms and Conditions of Supervised Release. Matsuura is known to frequent the Kalihi and Wahiawa areas.

CrimeStoppers and Oahu Transit Services, Inc. are asking for the public’s assistance in helping to keep bus passengers and operators safe and preventing damage to city buses.
In the last three months, TheBus has seen an increase in the frequency and severity of cases involving objects being thrown at and hitting buses. Since December 2021, there have been more than 60 cases of criminal property damage cases involving OTS buses.
The incidents have occurred in four primary areas:
Downtown-Chinatown - Between River and Alakea Streets
North Shore - Between Sunset Beach and Weed Circle
Hawaii Kai - Kalanianaole Highway and Keahole Street
Waikiki
At 6:30 a.m. today, an OTS bus was traveling eastbound on S. King Street near Fort Street Mall when the passengers heard a noise and saw that a bus window had been shattered. Fortunately, no one on the bus or nearby was injured.
The onboard video surveillance camera showed a male suspect throwing an unknown object at the bus. He is described as Caucasian, medium build, wearing a black jacket over a grey tank top, black shorts, black hat, black shoes, and a black backpack.
If you see someone throwing objects at or damaging a bus, call 9-1-1 immediately.
