During the course of this investigation, it’s believed that some of the tool boxes were located in a residence in the Lemon Creek area, but the tools were not recovered.
On June 17th and June 18th, 2013, it was reported to the Juneau Police Department, that two commercial passenger vans were unlawfully entered while they were parked in the parking lot of the North Douglas boat launch.
Several items were taken from inside the vehicles, including:
On August 24th, 2013, it was reported to the Juneau Police Department that about $4,000 in property was stolen. The property was being boxed up and moved from a residence in Juneau, to a residence in Seattle. The property is listed as the following:
On August 14
th, 2013, it was reported to the Juneau Police Department that a residence in the area of River Road was forcibly entered, and several items were stolen; including firearms, televisions, and jewelry.On June 4, 2013 it was reported to the Juneau Police Department that a SM2BAT detector and song meter were stolen from the Lemon Creek area. The instrument is used to measure and record bat sonar frequencies and was stolen between May 9, 2013 and May 31, 2013. The instrument and other parts stolen were valued at over $1000.
On June 5, 2013 at about 11pm, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a possible sexual assault that occurred in the area of Whittier and Warrior Streets. The female victim was heavily intoxicated but was unclear about exactly what happened to her. The woman`s initial report was that she was sexually assaulted however, the investigation has not produced witnesses or other information regarding who she was with.
On June 25, 2013 JPD received a report of a burglary and theft that occurred in the 5000 block of Glacier Highway. The unknown persons entered a unit on the property and stole oxygen tanks, torches, electric grinders and other tools. The value of the tools was estimated at over $2000.
On June 15, 2013 JPD received a report of a burglary and vehicle theft that occurred in the 4700 block of North Douglas Highway. The burglar entered the property and stole keys to a 2005 Jeep Liberty. Once keys were obtained the vehicle was stolen. The vehicle was later recovered on 6
th Street in downtown Juneau. The value of the vehicle stolen was estimated at $25,000.On June 1, 2013 at about 1 am, the Juneau Police Department received a report of someone a vehiclewhile it was parked in the Switzer Creek Trailer park. Witnesses reported that it was unclear if the weapon used was a small caliber firearm or an air gun. The witnesses described that a brown colored 4 door SUV with a roof rack drove up to the victim vehicle when a om inside the vehicle and the rear window was broken. The investigation did not produce evidence of either a firearm or an air gun projectile.
On May 26, 2013 at about 1240 hours, an unknown male called out to an 18 year old girl who was walking on Calhoun Street and then exposed himself to her. When she turned and walked away from him the man began following her and continued to call out to her. The girl was able to get away by finding a friend and leaving in a vehicle. The man was described as being about 5dark complexion, and ear length black straight hair.
On May 28, 2013 at about 9am, 2 boys were playing in the woods between Glacierwood Drive and Kodzoff Acres when they came across a man at a campsite in the woods. The man confronted the boys as they were playing and pointed a revolver type handgun at them. The boys were afraid the man was going to shoot them so they ran from the area. The boys described the man as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, wearing a big black coat, black beanie hat, and torn up jeans. The boys were unable to describe a build because of the black coat.
On August 26, 2012 between 1230pm and 6pm, an unknown person entered a Church in the 3900 Block of Mendenhall Loop Road and stole a lap computer valued at $1000. The Church was locked at 1230pm but upon return of the staff at 6pm the doors were found unlocked and the laptop missing.
On January 26, 2013 at about 8am, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a Burglary at the RX Express business on hospital drive. The unknown persons forcibly entered the business between 330pm on January 25 and 745am on January 26, 2013. They stole money and food items.
On May 1, 2013 the Juneau Police Department received a report of a vehicle and trailer being damaged by another vehicle on Fish Creek Road near Eagle Crest. Investigation revealed that a truck with dual rear wheels drove into the vehicle and trailer with the intention of pushing the vehicle and trailer over a steep embankment. More than $4000 damage was done to the vehicle and trailer.
On April 28, 2013, the Juneau Police Department received a report of stolen jewelry from a downtown hotel room. The jewelry stolen was valued at $2,500. The theft entered the room of a hotel guest sometime after April 20, 2013 and stole the jewelry item pictured below.
On January 8, 2013 the Juneau Police Department received the report of the theft of a 375 H&H caliber rifle from a residence in the 17000 block of Lena Loop Road. The complainant/victim reported the weapon was taken from his residence between April and May 2012. The complainant did not notice it was missing until January 2013.
On October 1, 2012, the Juneau Police Department received a report that a building in the 2100 Block of Glacier Highway was forcibly entered and over $5000 worth of tools, boat motors, and generators were stolen.
