Valley Paint Store Burglary
August 20, 2010

On May 17th 2010, the Juneau Police Department investigated a Burglary at the Valley Paint Store at the 9300 block of Glacier Highway. The business was entered, a large safe and other items were taken from the business.



Assault
August 13, 2010

On July 29th, 2010, the Juneau Police Department investigated a complaint from a 43-year-old male who stated he had been assaulted and robbed by three males in an unknown parking lot downtown. The victim stated he was picked up by the men while he was walking on Marine Way at about 12:30 am on July 29th. According to the victim, the men were driving a dark blue Ford Taurus. The victim stated that the driver was a white male about 5’9”, 200 lbs with blond hair. A white male about 5’7”, 165 lbs with brown hair was seated in the passenger seat, and a native male about 5’9” was with them. The men assaulted the victim and took his wallet containing cash & id, his shoes and cell phone.



Firearm Theft
August 06, 2010

On June 17, 2010 the Juneau Police Department investigated the theft of a firearm in the 2100 Block of Lawson Creek Road. The caller said he left his Smith & Wesson Double Action .41 Magnum handgun with a blued barrel and wood grips on the seat of his truck and it was stolen overnight.



SOLVED! - El Sombrero Burglary
July 30, 2010

On July 9th 2010, the Juneau Police Department investigated a Burglary at the El Sombrero restaurant on Franklin St. downtown. The suspects gained entry through a window and made off with a large safe.



Gun Theft
July 23, 2010

On April 14, 2010, the Juneau Police Department received a report of the theft of a gun from a public restroom on Marine Way. The caller said then gun was taken off in order to use the facilities. The caller said they walked out without the weapon, returned a few minutes later, and it was gone. The missing firearm is a Ruger LCP .380 pistol that is black in color.



Home Burglary
July 16, 2010

On June 14, 2010 the Juneau Police Department investigated a burglary in the 9000 Black of Trappers Lane. The home was rifled through and two hunting rifles were stolen. One of the rifles was a Browning 300 Win Mag that had never been, fired valued at $1200. The other was a Browning 30-06 Camouflage Auto-loader valued at $750.



Brux Homicide
June 25, 2010

Approximately 10 years ago on 05/22/2000, the Juneau Police Department received a report that 36 year old Juneau resident Daniel Brux was found deceased in his apartment. The apartment was located in the 100 block of Franklin Street. The investigation revealed that Brux was the victim of a homicide.



APPREHENDED! - WANTED
June 11, 2010

The Juneau Police Department is seeking assistance in locating Juneau resident Rorie Christopher MILLER. MILLER has an outstanding No Bail parole arrest warrant for apprehension and detention. The original charges were Robbery in the Second Degree and Misconduct Weapons in the Third Degree. 

MILLER is a 30 year old white male, 6’ 1” tall, medium build, with green eyes. MILLER’s normal hair color is brown, but his hair color might have been changed in an attempt to alter his appearance. MILLER is possibly armed and considered dangerous. MILLER has fled from officers on three different occasions. Do not attempt to contact MILLER. If seen notify the Juneau Police Department immediately at 586-0600.

Persons who render assistance to MILLER in avoiding apprehension will be investigated for possible criminal charges of Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree, a Class C Felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.  Any charges reported in this press release are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.



Point Lena Loop Chickens
June 04, 2010

On March 31st, 2010 the Juneau Police Department investigated a report of Criminal Mischief in the 17000 block of Pt Lena Loop Road. The caller reported someone had entered into an area where chickens were kept and killed five chickens. Another animal is not believed to have been the culprit as the chickens were all killed in the same fashion, and left in a line pattern on the ground.



Welding Equipment Theft
May 28, 2010

On April 12th, 2010 the Juneau Police Department investigated a report of Theft in the 16000 block of Glacier Hwy. The caller reported several pieces of welding equipment were stolen sometime between April 9th and April 11th. Among the items stolen was a 4ft by 8inch bottle of argon, a Miller 30A Spool Welding Gun, and three, 3.5 inch by 2 inch spools of aluminum wire. The value of these items is $2000.



Theft of Blankets
May 21, 2010

On March 25th, 2010 the Juneau Police Department investigated a report of Theft in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive. The caller reported that 66 tan colored blankets were stolen sometime between March 23rd and March 24th. The blankets are valued at $1200.00.



Tesoro Robbery
May 14, 2010

On 011010 at approximately 4:14 am, the Juneau Police Department received a call from the Valley Tesoro on Mall Road reporting they had just been robbed at gun point. The caller described the robber as being a man about 6 feet tall and skinny, wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white shoes. The robber entered the store, pointed a small black gun at the employee, demanded the money, and fled the area on foot toward Riverside Drive.



Gun Theft
April 23, 2010

On April 1st, 2010 the Juneau Police Department investigated a report of Theft in the 9200 block of Bonnett Way. The caller reported that between January 2010 and March 31st, 2010 someone entered his storage unit and stole a Browning Stainless Stalker .338 Win Mag, left handed, bolt action rifle with a black scope on it.



Residential Theft
April 16, 2010

On April 8th, 2010, the Juneau Police Department investigated a theft in the 3000 block of Indian Cove Road. The caller reported that between March 21st and March 27th, someone had stolen an entire kitchen cabinet set-up from the residence. Also taken was a bathroom vanity with a while marble sink.  The value of these items is $9000.00.



Airport Blvd Vandalism
April 09, 2010

On February 12, 2010 the Juneau Police Department investigated a report of vandalism on Airport Boulevard, where several private company vehicles had mirrors broken off, and one vehicle had a fire extinguisher set off inside.



Motor Theft
April 02, 2010

On March 3, 2010 the Juneau Police Department investigated the Theft of a trolling motor on North Loop Way. The caller said the theft occurred between midnight and 7:30am on March 3rd. The motor is described as a Gold colored Honda BF5, 5hp motor and valued at $1400.  The theft of this motor is believed to be linked to Bryon GUTSCHMIDT who was arrested in Juneau on March 16, 2010 on separate Theft cases.  The Juneau Police Department knows this motor was listed on Craigslist on March 12th 2010, and sold locally around on or about March 15th.



Gun Theft
March 26, 2010

On February 19, 2010, the Juneau Police Department investigated a vehicle rifling in the 9000 Block of Glacier Hwy. Among the items taken was a stainless steel Ruger Redhawk .41 Magnum with a 6.5 inch barrel in a black nylon holster.



Home Invasion
March 19, 2010

On March 3, 2010 at 2:10 am, the Juneau Police Department investigated a home invasion style robbery in the 5800 Block of Glacier Hwy. The caller said 3 male adults, unknown to him, entered his residence looking for an individual who had recently moved out. The males said they were there to collect a debt. The males took the callers TV valued at $1500 and left the residence.

The three were described as follows:  One was a large white male with short hair wearing a baseball cap and a green “Lettermen” style jacket, with large white letters across the chest; another was a shorter, approximately 5ft 6inch skinny, light skinned black male with side burns, wearing a black jacket with a hood.  The third was a 5ft 8inch white male with close cropped sideburns and beard across his chin, wearing a baseball cap backwards, and a Carhart style jacket.



Theft from a Vehicle
March 12, 2010

On February 19, 2010, the Juneau Police Department investigated a vehicle rifling in the 9000 Block of Glacier Hwy.  Among the items taken was a stainless steel Ruger Redhawk .41 Magnum with a 6.5 inch barrel in a black nylon holster.
