BANK ROBBERY IN WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP
January 31, 2012

     UNIDENTIFIED SUSPECT

     On January 30, 2012 at 12:30PM the Provident Bank 325 Amboy ave in Woodbridge was robbed by a white male.  The suspect went up to a teller and passed her a hand written note demanding money.  The teller placed the contents of her drawer in a neat stack on the counter as the suspect waited patiently.

     The suspect only took about a third of the stack and stated "That`s enough". He then walked quickly out of the main door. Once outside, the suspect is seen running west on Bergen Street towards US Route 9 North. An eye witness saw the suspect run past his house on the corner of Bergen and Oak Avenue.

     The suspect is described as a caucasian male in his late 20`s to early 30`s, 5`9", thin build, unshaven, blue eyes, brown neck length hair, wearing a brown carthart jacket with wool fur collar, blue hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black nike sneakers, blue baseball type hat with white graffiti style writing.

FATAL HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT IN NEW BRUNSWICK
January 26, 2012

TWO ARRESTS MADE BY THE NEW BRUNSWICK POLICE AND THE MIDDLESEX COUNTY PROSECUTORS OFFICE!

On Wednesday January 25, 2012 at approximateley10:53 pm, the City of New Brunswick Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office investigated a fatal hit and run accident that occured at the intersection of South Talmadge Street and George`s Road near the North Brunswick border.

A Toyota 4-Runner seen was driving on the wrong side of George`s Road  when the vehicle struck and killed a 24 year old male on a bicycle. The Toyota continued on George`s Road traveling toward North Brunswick.

The Toyota 4-Runner is believed to be a model between 1995-2002. The vehicle is dark, possibly dark blue and has gray trim around the tires. The vehicle will have damage to the driver`s side and the driver`s side rear window is shattered. The plate is believed to be from New Jersey.

ARMED ROBBERY SPREE CROSSES COUNTY LINES: AFFECTS EDISON, SOUTH BRUNSWICK, & FRANKLIN
January 10, 2012

ALL THREE SUSPECTS APPREHENDED

On 12/8/2011 at approximately 10:20am, the above pictured 3 black males entered the T-Mobile Store located at 691 Rt. 1 South. Once inside the store one suspect pulled out a handgun and had the owner take them to the back of the store where they had him lay down. Suspects proceeded to put on latex gloves and filled up three garbage type bags with high end cell phones. The unknown suspects also asked for the T-Mobile money bags, which contained a total of $1,300.00 cash.

The 3 suspects fled out the rear door of the business, where they entered the above pictured vehicle (possibly older model Nissan Altima or Ford Contour/Taurus). The suspect vehicle appeared light in color and seemed to be missing the front passenger side hub cap. Victim heard one of the suspects on his cell phone during the robbery with a driver who picked them up in the back of the store. Vehicle may have been driven by a female.

JEWELRY STORE ROBBERY IN OLD BRIDGE
December 30, 2011

 

On December 11, 2011 Corbo Jeweler`s located at 3839 US Highway 9 North in Old Bridge Township was robbed.

A person who witnesses described as a white male wearing a Halloween Mask entered the store.  The suspect lifted his arm and pointed a gun at the employees and took an undetermined amount of jelwery.  The suspect left the store and was seen fleeing on foot. Detective Tulko of the Old Bridge Police Department in investigating the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white male with blue eyes,  approximately 5`10"  wearing a black jacket, black sneakers and a skin colored mask that had a gray moustache.

SIMILAR BANK ROBBERY SUPSPECT IN RAHWAY ON 11/19/2011

The FBI is seeking help in identifying a person responsible for several bank robberies including one in Rahway on November 19, 2011. The picture of this suspect is similar to the Bank Robbery in Metuchen on December 1, 2011.

On Saturday, 11/19/2011 at approximately 2:30 PM, the TD Bank, located at 1071 Saint George Avenue in Rahway New jersey was robbed by an Hispanic male in his late 20`s or early 30`s, 5`9" tall, wearing a blue NY Yankees baseball cap, a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. The subject approached the teller and handed the teller a note. The subject then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. This same subject is wanted in connection with the robberies of TD Banks in Roselle, New Jersey on 10/19/2011 and Westfield, New Jersey on 09/11/2011. See attached wanted flyer.

THREE BANK ROBBERIES IN MIDDLESEX COUNTY ON 12/1/2011
December 02, 2011

                           ARRESTED

 Three bank robberies occurred in Middlesex County on December 1, 2011. 

The first robbery occurred in Metuchen at 9:46AM at the TD Bank located at 70 Middlesex Avenue (See photo to the right with suspect wearing a Yankee hat).  A note was passed and no weapon was shown. The suspect was described  as a light skinned male, 5`9" tall with lite eyes and a scruffy beard.  The suspect was wearing a dark blue or black pea coat type jacket with a scarf pulled up to his chin. Their is a survelliance photograph of this suspect.  The FBI beleives that this is the same suspect responsible for a Bank Robbery in Rahway in November of this year.

The second robbery occurred in North Brunswick at 9:45AM at the Brunswick Bank and Trust located on Aaron Road.  A dark-skinned male wearing a black hat, black hooded sweat shirt and black sweat pants did not show a gun and made off with an undetermined amount of money before getting into a dark-colored sedan and heading toward Route 1.

The third robbery occurred in Edison at the Unity Bank located at 1746 Oak Tree Road.  The suspect had a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head, black gloves and black pants, 5`6 to 5`8" tall, olive skinned with some facial hair.  The suspect had a black handgun. The suspect got into a small compact car and drove on Oak Tree Road toward South Plainfield.

REWARD OFFERRED FOR INFORMATION FOR HIGHLAND PARK VANDALISM

ARREST MADE BY THE HIGHLAND PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT !

    The Middlesex County Prosecutor`s office announced Wednesday that an investigation is underway to find the vandals who smashed the windows of five Jewish-owned businesses in Highland Park.

Jerusalem Pizza, Jack`s Hardware, Park Place restaurant, Judaica Gallery and Trio Gifts were all targeted in the vandalism spree that is believed to have happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Prosecutor`s office referred to the vandalism as a "bias-related".

It was first noticed by a patrol officer on duty and later reported to police by the owners as they opened their stores, according to the Prosecutor`s Office. 

Nobody was injured, as all the shops were closed at the time.

The vandalism was comprised of windows being smashed. No graffiti was discovered on any of the businesses, according to the Prosecutor`s Office.

"We are currently gathering and reviewing information that may lead us to a suspect,’’ Highland Park Police Chief Stephen Rizco said, in a prepared statement on Wednesday. "All of our officers are aware of the sensitivity of this situation and we will make every effort with patrols and surveillance to keep everyone safe."

The Prosecutor`s office said that Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County Inc. will be offering cash rewards to anyone who anonymously provides information that leads to an arrest of the people responsible.

BANK ROBBERY IN OLD BRIDGE NEW JERSEY
October 28, 2011

STATUS: CLOSED

On October 26, 2011 at approximately 11:00AM a suspect entered the Chase Bank located at 20 Bushnell Road in Old Bridge and handed the teller a handwritten note demanding money.  The suspect is described as an olive skinned male, approximately 6`2" tall, medium build in his 40`s.  The suspect was wearing jeans, a dark jacket and a New York Yankees baseball hat.

HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT IN SOUTH AMBOY
September 19, 2011

 

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and South Amboy Police Chief Darren LaVigne announced today that police are searching for a 2000 to 2003 Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Liberty to determine whether it was involved in the death of an 18-year-old Perth Amboy man who was struck and killed as he walked along the shoulder of Route 35 north in South Amboy .

An investigation into the death of Sylvestre Tejada, 18, of Perth Amboy, also is attempting to ascertain whether the Jeep sustained damage to the passenger-side mirror and the front of the vehicle.

 The investigation began after a state Department of Transportation maintenance crew, while spraying herbicide along the highway bridge, over Raritan Avenue, discovered the body and called police on July 28, 2011.

 An autopsy completed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Mr. Tejada died from blunt force trauma as a result of being struck by a motor vehicle.

 The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the incident or who has observed a 2000 to 2003 Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Liberty with front-end damage and/or damage to the passenger-side mirror, is asked to call Detective David Keegan of the South Amboy Police Department at (732) 525-5944, or Investigator Jeffrey Temple of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3373.

     On August 6, 2011 at 1:56AM the New Brunswick Police Department recived a call about gunshots near the intersection of Remsen Avenue and Suydam Street.  Witnesses told the dispatcher that they saw a man laying on Remsen Avenue at the corner of Suydam Street. The victim, Jesse Simons, died of a gunshot wound.  The Middlesex County Prosecutors Office and the New Brunswick Police Department obtained video from local businesses and developed three persons of interest seen in the area before the shooting.  The attached flyer contains photographs of those persons.
