CRIMINAL JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIP

In support of local law enforcement, Champaign County Crime Stoppers is awarding one $500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior from Champaign County who is planning to pursue a career in the Criminal Justice field.

Scholarship Application Requirements

1. To qualify, you must be a graduating senior from a Champaign County, Illinois high school.
2. A Google account is required to access and submit an application. You can find the online application at the link above, and you must complete it in its entirety.  The form will autosave as you progress through the application. 
3. Write and attach a personal essay between 250-500 words addressing the following questions:
     a. Why do you want to pursue a career in the criminal justice field?
     b. How will the $500 youth scholarship support you in accomplishing this goal?
4. Please submit two (2) letters of reference from two people who can attest to your character and work ethic and why you would be a good candidate for this scholarship. Please do not use a family member as a reference. 
5. All applications must be submitted and received on or before April 10, 2026.

Selection and Notification

The Champaign County Crime Stoppers Youth Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipient from those applications that are fully completed and received by April 10, 2026.  Once the successful candidate is determined, the candidate and high school will be notified by April 22, 2026.  Champaign County Crime Stoppers will issue a $500 check to the college or university to be applied toward the recipient’s account.
