Crime Stoppers relies on cooperation between the police, the media, and the general community to provide a flow of information about crime and criminals.
The Phone Call
Tips are received by our call center. The call does not display a caller ID and conversations are not recorded. . Consider using the P3 Tips mobile app or submit an online WebTip. The CACS coordinator receiving the information from the call center reviews the tip and passes the information to the investigating officer. The caller will be instructed on how to follow up on their tip or provide additional information at a later time.
Our tip line does not connect to an emergency response agency. Emergency calls should be directed to local 911 response centers.
Crime Stoppers guarantees the caller's anonymity and allows the caller to give information in a positive atmosphere without the prospect of retribution. The program encourages otherwise reluctant callers to provide information by offering cash rewards for information leading to an indictment or arrest.
SmartPhone App
We are pleased to announce the release of our new P3 Mobile application for SmartPhones. The new app is free and can be downloaded by visiting the iPhone App Store or Google Play and searching for P3(https://www.p3tips.com/website/index.htm).
The new mobile app offers great new features and benefits not available with any existing tip submission processes, including the ability to submit images and video, unlimited messaging length, fully anonymous two-way dialogue and even virtual chat mode when both parties are online. Our new P3 Mobile application takes things to the next level of effectiveness and efficiency.
The Online WebTip
Tipsters now have the option of giving us tips online. The process is completely secure and anonymous and is a very effective and efficient means of safely communicating with us in today's world. Our WebTip process is powered by the world's leading online tip solution provider, Anderson Software.
The very unique integrated Two-Way Dialog capabilties allow the tipster to come back and provide additional information to their tip at any time, but also provides a secure means for the coordinator to ask questions or provide reward information back to the tipster through the same secure and encrypted interface.
Why We Have Chosen to Eliminate SMS Text Tips as a Tip Source
We have determined that SMS / Text Tips fall outside of our standards of anonymity, safety, security and effectiveness. Therefore, we are no longer using Text Tips.
