The Freeport Police Department needs your help to find the person(s) responsible for the murder of Walter Scott.

On 9-25-13 at approximately 3:08 p.m., Freeport Police Officers responded to a death investigation in a home in the 800 block of West Chestnut Street in Freeport.  Upon their arrival, Freeport Police Officers found Walter A. Scott, age 34, to have been shot to death inside his residence.

Jeffrey Hammer - Pedestrian Hit and Run

On September 27, 2008 at apoximately 1:17am the Stephenson County Sheriff`s Office was dispatched to an accident with injuries on South Bolton Road just to the north of Wst Hershey Road. We were advised that a male subject had been struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the male subject, identified as Jeffrey Hammer of Shannon, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene. The dark green vehicle left the area. Witnesses and evidence indicated that Jeffrey was lying on the north bound lane of South Bolton Road when he was struck the second time. Several vehicle parts were recovered from the dark green vihicle. Further investigation indicated that it could be a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu, emerald green in color. Jeffrey was walking home after getting his vehicle stuck at the corner of South Bolton Road and Sabin Church Road.
