STATUS: OPENAt approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023, Bradenton Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of 17th St. Ct. E. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Dwight Sutton, Sr., 56, in front of a home. He was pronounced deceased on the scene. This case is being investigated by Bradenton Police Detective Brian Sands and the Manatee County Homicide Task Force.
The following rewards, totaling up to $8,000, are offered:
- Up to $5,000 from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Star Club of Manatee County for information leading to an arrest in this case.
- Up to $3,000 for information leading to an arrest from Crime Stoppers of Manatee County, Inc.

On May 30, 2019, at approximately 9:45 pm, William “Jake” Ramsey was killed outside his front door located at 3819 7th St E, Bradenton. Just prior to being murdered, Jake was seen walking north along 7th St E, carrying a case of beer he had purchased from K&S Discount Beverage on 7th St. and 44th Ave. E. Neighbors reported hearing a “loud” vehicle in the area around the time of the murder. Victim: Patrick Mullins
Location: Last seen on leaving his residence at 5611 43rd Ave E, Bradenton on his boat into the Manatee River. A boat matching the description of Patrick Mullins’ boat was seen entering Terra Ceia Bay into Tampa Bay.
Synopsis: On January 27th, 2013 at 1300 hours a missing persons report was initiated for Patrick Mullins, 52 year old white male, by his wife after he failed to return from taking his boat out. Witnesses stated that Mr. Mullins was alone. At 6:10 pm on the 27th a witness reported seeing a boat matching the description of Mr. Mullin's boat traveling from Terra Ceia Bay into Tampa Bay with a single occupant on board. On January 28th, 2013 the US Coast Guard, the Florida Wildlife Commission and Manatee County Sheriff's marine unit began an extensive search and rescue operation to locate Mr. Mullins. The boat was recovered on January 28th unoccupied. On February 5th, 2013 a fisherman found the body of Mr. Mullins in about three feet of water off Emerson Point. The manner of death has not been determined although the cause of death was from a gunshot to the head.

Denisha Williams, 41, was found by a neighbor in her home at the Cedar Tree Apartments (now Cedar Tree Village), 1909 5th St. W., on February 28, 2003. Ms. Williams sustained multiple injuries, and evidence at the scene indicated she'd struggled with her attacker. This case is under investigation by BPD's Cold Case Unit.
Note: Denisha's name at birth was Donald Pierce.

On Monday July 23, 2001, at approximately 0406 hours, Wajid Coleman is observed leaving his residence located at 1302 29th Street East, Palmetto and is never seen alive again. On Monday, July 30, 2001, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 622 Magellan Drive, Sarasota, Florida in reference to a deceased male in the woods of a vacant lot. On August 17, 1996, Jefferson Blanton was found deceased from Homicidal violence inside his residence at 37855 Sixby Road, Myakka City, Florida. The victim’s girlfriend, Linda Fledderman, disappeared immediately after the Homicide, and has not been seen alive since. They were both last seen together leaving the Myakka Bar the night prior to the Homicide.
