Burglary at Lowe's
August 13, 2016
STATUS: ARRESTEDSUBJECTS IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED
Between June 27-June 30, 2016, three people are suspected of conspiring together in their efforts to commit a burglary from Lowe`s in Champaign.
Police have already arrested Jeff Nolan of Savoy in association with this case and are trying to identify two other people who may be his accomplices.
Police are trying to identify a white male who may or may not be a current or former employee of Nolan`s business, All American Drywall. In the photo he is wearing a t-shirt with "It`s a pigeon thing" across the front. Police are also trying to identify a white female with blonde hair.
Theft of Construction Equipment

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers and the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office are seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary.
On July 26, 2016, the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office received a report of stolen construction equipment belonging to A&R Mechanical at 4712 N. Cunningham Ave. in Urbana Township. The theft took place between July 1st and July 5th. Unknown person(s) forced open an access door to the building containing a yellow Vermeer skidsteer, two concrete buggies, and other concrete construction equipment by Husqvarna, Dyna Pack, and Wacker. Possible suspect vehicle could be a maroon dually pickup pulling a trailer that was observed over the July 4th weekend at the business. The total value of items stolen equaled $64,485.42.

Two Urbana Bank Robberies

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers and the Urbana Police Department are seeking assistance from the public regarding two recent bank robberies.
On April 29, 2016, at 2:48 p.m.
, Urbana police were dispatched to a report of a bank robbery at the First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust located at 601 S. Vine Street, Urbana. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspect subsequently fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was described as a white male in his 50s with white hair. He was approximately 5’6” tall with a medium build. He was wearing an orange face mask and sunglasses, dark long sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and was carrying a black duffel bag. When exiting the bank, the suspect removed the orange face mask and put on a camouflage baseball cap. On July 16, 2016, at 11:27 a.m., Urbana Police were dispatched to a second bank robbery at the same bank. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from the vault. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the vault and the suspect fled the bank on foot. The suspect was described as a white male, 40-50 years old, 5’4” to 5’7” with a thin build and gray/blonde hair. The suspect was wearing a black ski mask and black sunglasses, blue long sleeved shirt, black or dark blue athletic type pants with a green stripe down both legs, black gloves, and was carrying a black shoulder bag.If you have any information about either of these crimes, submit an anonymous tip using the link below.
Armed Robbery of Champagin Circle K

STATUS: ARRESTEDSUBJECT IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED
This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers and the Champaign Police Department are seeking assistance from the public regarding an armed robbery.
On July 21, 2016, at 3:35 a.m., two black males entered the Circle K at 1301 S Neil and one of the males pointed a gun at the clerk demanding money. Suspect one was wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and covered most of his head and face with a white t-shirt. Suspect one was responsible for pointing the gun at the clerk during the robbery. Suspect two was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray t-shirt, and black shorts. Suspect two grabbed cash from the register, a jar of donation money for Children’s Miracle Network, alcohol, and cigarettes.

SUBJECT IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED
Cash Theft at Champaign Walmart.

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers and the Champaign Police Department are seeking assistance from the public regarding a theft.
On June 28, 2016 at 8:05 p.m., a bald, white or light-skinned black male offender stole US currency from a cash register at Walmart. The offender was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and black pants. The offender was seen leaving the store with two other subjects. Subject one was a white female wearing jean capris and a dark tank top. Subject two was an older black male with short gray hair wearing a light blue shirt and jeans.
The offender was seen walking outside with the two subjects and then leaving the area in a gray or tan 4-door sedan, possibly a Lincoln or Buick type vehicle.

Credit Card Fraud in Champaign

The Champaign Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a credit card fraud.
On March 14, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., two black males made purchases at Macy’s with a stolen credit card. Additional purchases were then made at Finish Line and McDonalds. The offenders were described as being black males, 18-25 years of age. Offender one was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants, and white shoes. Offender two was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Attempted Murder in Urbana
July 03, 2016
The Urbana Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding an attempted murder.
On June 27, 2016 at 11:18 p.m., Urbana police officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 2000 Block of Vawter. Officers arrived and found a victim of a shooting. The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Detectives have learned that the victim was in a vehicle when he was shot. Current indications are that the victim was shot at close range and other people were in the area at the time of the shooting. A person was observed fleeing the scene after the shooting. The suspect is described as a black male in dark clothing. Two vehicles were also seen quickly leaving the area after the shooting.

The Champaign Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a shooting.
On June 12, 2016 at 8:07 p.m., Champaign police responded to the area of McKinley/Francis where a black female had been shot in the neck by an unknown offender. Witnesses reported seeing a white 4-door passenger vehicle leaving the area.

Residential Burglary in Urbana
June 18, 2016
The Urbana Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a residential burglary.
On May 29, 2016 at 7:45 a.m., Urbana police were dispatched to a residential burglary in the 2400 block of Stricker Lane. Officers learned that during the overnight hours of May 28, 2016 several thousand dollars worth of jewelry, electronics, and cash were stolen from the unlocked residence. The residence was ransacked as items were taken throughout.
Stolen items include: black Movado watch, gold Movado watch with a gold band, Dell laptop, HP laptop, two IPads, and a silver Alpha camera E 18-55mm (NEX-5NK).

Burglary of Businesses in Champaign

The Champaign Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary.
On May 26, 2016 at 1:06 a.m., an unknown male shattered the front entrance door to Illini Contractors Supply located at 706 W. Bradley gaining access into the building to steal a Honda generator.
The offender is an unknown male wearing a backpack, and riding a bicycle.

Robery at Champaign Mall

The Champaign Police Department are seeking assistance from the public regarding a robbery.
On May 31, 2016 at 12:39 p.m., a female victim was walking into Market Place Mall at 2000 N Neil St. when an unknown white male grabbed the victim’s purse from her shoulder.
The offender was described as being a white male, 20-30 years old, 6’ to 6’1” tall, slender build, and had brown hair. He was last seen wearing a tan hat, light brown plaid shirt, and jeans. The offender left in a light blue or green small sports utility vehicle, possibly a Toyota Rav 4.

This week the Champaign Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a retail theft.
On May 23, 2016 at 3:09 p.m., Ulta Cosmetics located at 2023 N Prospect Avenue reported four subjects shoplifted over $2,000 worth of merchandise.
The four offenders were described as arriving to the store in pairs of two; each pair consisting of one Hispanic male and one hispanic or white female, 20 years of age. The first male offender was described as wearing glasses, a blue/white plaid long sleeve shirt, and blue jeans. The female offender was wearing a black tank top, black pants, black shoes, and was carrying a black purse with a white stripe.
In the second pair, the male offender was wearing black pants and a navy or black polo shirt with white trim on the collar and sleeves. The female was wearing Bluetooth headphones wrapped around her neck, a blue dress, and was carrying a black purse.

Burglary of Businesses in Champaign

STATUS: ARRESTEDSUBJECT IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED
The Champaign Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary.
On April 24, 2016 at 11:00 p.m., Champaign police were dispatched to a burglary at Discount Smoke Shop located at 807 Bloomington Rd., where officers found the front glass door had been shattered and numerous lottery tickets were stolen.
The suspects were described as being a light skinned black male and a light skinned or white female, 30-35 years of age. Video footage shows the male offender was wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, and white/black shoes, carrying a blue backpack during the burglary.
While redeeming the winning lottery tickets the male offender was seen wearing a red t-shirt, black pants, and white or gray shoes. The female offender was wearing a black sleeveless shirt, black/white pants, and black sandals. On another occasion the female was seen wearing a Pink brand zip-up gray sweatshirt and jeans. The offenders were seen leaving in a newer model Ford SUV, possibly an Escape.

SUBJECT IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED
Burglary to Multiple Motor Vehicles in Ogden
May 15, 2016
The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a string of burglaries to motor vehicles that occurred in the Village of Ogden during the overnight hours of May 8th, 2016. The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office received ten (10) reports of vehicles being entered and miscellaneous items being stolen from vehicles, including one (1) vehicle parked inside of a detached garage.
Some of the items reported stolen were: United States Currency, cameras, electronics, televisions, back packs, hunting equipment, debit and credit cards, purses and jewelry.
Investigators from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect(s) who committed the vehicle burglaries or witnesses to the vehicle burglaries.

Bank Robery in Urbana

The Urbana Police Department are seeking assistance from the public regarding a bank robbery.
On April 29, 2016 at 2:48 p.m., Urbana police were dispatched to a report of a bank robbery at the First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust located at 601 S. Vine Street, Urbana.
Initial investigative efforts showed the suspect entered the bank using the south doors, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. He was wearing an orange face mask and sunglasses to disguise his appearance. An undisclosed amount of money was given to the suspect, who subsequently fled the bank on foot.
Based on multiple sources, the suspect was described as a white male in his 50s with white hair. He was approximately 5’6” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and was carrying a black duffel bag. When exiting the bank, the suspect removed the orange face mask and put on a camouflage baseball cap.

Shooting in Champaign

The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public regarding a shooting.
On April 22nd, 2016 at approximately 11:31 p.m., the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office received numerous reports of gun shots being fired in the 1500 block of Kingsway Drive, Champaign. Upon Champaign County Sheriff’s Deputies arrival, Deputies located evidence to suggest that multiple shots were fired. Shortly after Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene, Deputies were notified that there was a twenty-two (22) year old male who arrived at Carle Foundation Hospital and was being treated for a minor gunshot wound. The male victim was treated and later released from Carle Foundation Hospital.
Investigators from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect(s) who fired the shots and witnesses to the shooting.

Equipment Thefts near Gifford
April 24, 2016
The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office are seeking assistance from the public regarding numerous thefts.
On April 15, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. and April 16, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. thefts occurred at Gordyville, located at 2205E County Road 3000N, Gifford. Five (5) separate victims reported that unknown suspect(s) entered a “Tack room”, located within the Gordyville Arena, where the following items were stolen:
Circle Y Show Saddle ($1,200)
Saddle Pad ($2,000)
RS Work Saddle ($750)
English HDH Saddle ($900)
Western Royal Saddle ($3,000)
Wenger Work Saddle ($1,000)
2-Huber Work Saddle ($2,000)
Total: $10,850.00
A sixth victim reported damage to a horse trailer’s lock where it appeared that suspect(s) attempted to gain entry into a horse trailer parked in the parking lot. Damage to the horse trailer was estimated at $500.00.

Shots Fired in Champaign

STATUS: SOLVEDSOLVED
The Champaign Police Department are seeking assistance from the public regarding the Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
On April 13, 2016 at 5:40 p.m. in the 1600-block of Hedge Road, Champaign, officers responded to numerous reports of shots fired. Shortly thereafter a male victim had been transported to the emergency room for his injuries.
This investigation is ongoing and Detectives have learned that there was more than one suspect with a weapon. Further information can be forwarded to Detective Sumption, reference C16-03290.

Burglary, Forgery and Deceptive Practices in Champaign

The Champaign Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary/forgery/deceptive practices case.
On March 21st and 22nd a female was in the Champaign-Urbana area cashing checks from multiple vehicle burglaries at local bank branches. The offender was described as being a white female, 30-40 years of age, long blonde hair or wearing a wig, and was driving a gray Hyundai Sonata.

Shooting in Champaign
March 28, 2016
The Champaign Police Department is seeking assistance from the public regarding a shooting.
On March 22, 2016 at 10:21 p.m. in the 200 block of S. Country Fair Dr., Champaign, a black male was shot while walking home. The victim did not sustain life threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
The offender was described as being an unknown black male carrying a small semi-automatic handgun. No further description was given for the offender.
