Crime Stoppers is built on cooperation between law enforcement, the media, and the community. Together, we share information to help solve crimes and make Pitt County safer.
Our program protects anonymity and offers cash rewards when information leads to an arrest. There are 3 ways to submit a tip.
Call (252) 758-7777 anytime. Our line is open 24/7. Calls go directly to a secure out of state call center.
No caller ID
No recordings
No way to trace the call
We never ask for your name
Your information is entered into our secure system and forwarded to the Crime Stoppers coordinator here in Pitt County. Each tip is reviewed then sent to the appropriate law enforcement agency for investigation.
You’ll receive a unique log-in code and password so you can check for updates and learn about your reward online, still completely anonymous. Please make sure to write this information down and save it.
By removing the fear of being identified and offering cash rewards, Crime Stoppers encourages people to share what they know in safety and confidence.
You can also submit a tip online, quickly, safely, and anonymously from your own computer, tablet or phone browser through this website, www.crimestopper.org. Again, you’ll receive a unique log-in code and password so you can check for updates and learn about your reward online, still completely anonymous. Please make sure to write this information down and save it.
Our secure web tip system lets you:
Type your own information
Attach photos, videos, maps, or links to better explain the information
Stay anonymous throughout
The system also includes the ability for a two-way dialog with Crime Stoppers staff (not in real time), so you can:
Add more details later
Receive messages or questions to help clarify the information
Receive information on how to claim your reward (also anonymously).
All communication stays encrypted and confidential.
Download the P3 Tips App (available on Apple App Store or Google Play).
With the app, you can send a tip anytime, from anywhere, securely from your phone or tablet. Again, you’ll receive a unique log-in code and password so you can check for updates and learn about your reward online, still completely anonymous. Please make sure to write this information down and save it.
See someone who’s wanted while you’re out to dinner? Submit your tip quietly and enjoy the rest of your meal. Your reward might even cover the check!
